Also if possible the expected beta release day (currently marked as

Going at

(but the same for Fedora 18 and 19 paths)
I only see a few packages and none of the engine related.

Thanks,

ACK on pushing this out. There are numerous packages that I don't
have yet to post. Namely, engine and vdsm have not yet been provided
for posting.

So, test day was moved for tomorrow, i'll send an announcement with all
the details soon.

Re: [Users] Can't remove disks anymore

2013-07-23 Thread Hans-Joachim
Hi,

there are 2 nodes up and running.
But on both, the iSCSI storage 95d9d760-18ea-4d9e-a785-02c32a36a781
contains only the directories
metadata
leases
ids
inbox
outbox
master
So for me, it looks like the 'disks' exists only in the database.

Booting from cd should give you the installer. Once it installs,
there should be logs in either /var/log/ovirt*log and possibly in

Hello Mike,

last time it was little weird for me I put install cd and booted
ovirt 2.6.1 and choosed install in low graphics mode.
It went ok, i typed password and so, but it failed on 85% (I think
during grub install).
Then I switched booting mode from BIOS to UEFI, booted same iso and
strange grub dialog occurs (with only boot oVirt 3.2.1 ), so I
choose it

and then the CD booted into shell with admin login.
I tryed password from failed installation and it works. Thats little
strange. That is why I want to run install dialog to get some
errors log

from failed install. I have been looking on failed install logs, but
only error was like can not find root partition.

Can you try booting in EFI mode again, but choose reinstall (or simply
add reinstall to the default command line)?

Mike

Hello Mike,

I did boot in EFI again with reinstall and I got blue console screen
with login (localhost login:)

can you boot with rootpw=hashed_passwd ?

hashed_passwd can be generated with

openssl passwd.

After you get to the login prompt, you can login as root with your
password. Then, can you capture the log files I mentioned above?

Thanks

Mike

I did.

/tmp/ovirt.log is here http://pastebin.com/0b0Fj1sD

[Users] VLANs and oVirt 3.1

2013-07-23 Thread Jason Keltz
In my test setup for oVirt 3.1, I have 3 switches -- two basic ones with
no VLAN support for mgmt, and storage, and a building switch with VLAN
support. The network operations team has configured a trunk with 2 dual
1 Gb links on the building switch. If I configure the two network
interfaces in oVirt with binding mode 4, and assign a logical network
to the link without specifying a VLAN, it works fine. I'm told the
default untagged VLAN is 494 (which is what I want). On the other hand,
if I simply hard-code VLAN 494 in the logical network setup, it doesn't
work - I get no network traffic. I'm told that the switch is setup
correctly, and the problem is on my side. How can I debug?

Thanks,

Jason.

Subject: Re: [Users] Problem Creating oVirt Engine

Where can I find oVirt engine (jboss) log files in Fedora 18 that you
 mention…?

On a side note, In case it was a Firewall issue, I tried the Firewall.app
that comes with Fedora 18 and oVirt appears as a Service which I selected
so it is trusted under dmx, external,, home, internal, public and work
(hence, anywhere I could find it). I selected Persistent Configuration ,
and under Services, selected oVirt, pressed Edit Service and all
 possible ports (80, 443, 662, 8700, 8701, 32803, etc.) where listed as
accessible; so the firewall should't be the issue - hopefully.

Returning to your suggestion, I searched the Fedora 18 linux file-structure
for jboss using the locate command and got the listing below this
paragraph. Which file are you mentioning in your suggestion…? Cant find
 anything that ends in *log…!!!

 Sorry for my ignorance…

Logs are at:
/var/log/ovirt-engine

Firewall configuration is handled automatically when running engine-setup.

That sounds normal to me. Traffic coming in on the native untagged VLAN
wouldn't appear on the VLAN interface. I have a similar set up, and I've
assigned an unused VLAN as the native VLAN on the trunk, added the VLANs I
care about to the allowed VLANs list, and created the appropriate tagged
logical networks.

Hope this helps,

Martin

Thanks, Martin. I thought that the native VLAN would come through on the
VLAN interface as well. While this would explain why I couldn't get at
VLAN 494, it wouldn't explain why I couldn't get at another of the VLANS
on the same link -- still no traffic. I do a tcpdump and see nothing (but
the LACP stats show the link is up).

2013-07-23 Thread jplor...@gmail.com
Hi, maybe you have pvid of the bond in the 494 vlan (in the switch) and so
the traffic you get is untagged. When you manually mark the network to be
tagged, you'll discard the untagged packets
