Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4.1.2 update but rubygem-fluent-plugin-viaq_data_model package missing

2017-08-03 Thread Fabrice Moyen

Thanks for your answer Sandro,

I will try and use the workaround repo you gave me on a test environment to
validate everything is now fine.
Just one comment : Maybe I'm missing something, but as the
rubygem-fluent-plugin-viaq_data_model is a "noarch" package, the problem should
not be only for ppc64le centos, but for all supported platforms (and so also
for x86_64 platform)...

[ovirt-users] Cannot set a quota to limit resources for each user

2017-08-03 Thread Soumya Koduri

Hi,

We have a use-case to limit VM resources for each user and were
following guidelines specified in the admin guide to set quota and limit
resources for each user [section: 16.8. Using Quota to Limit Resources
by User]. However looks like that quota is shared by all the users added
as consumers.

Suppose I have created a quota (say quota1) to limit the storage
capacity to 100GB for each user. Once I add user1 and user2 as consumers
to that quota, seems like both users combined are entitled to 100GB. Is
my understanding correct?

Please let me know if there is any way to configure a single quota which
could be applied for each user individually (i.e, in the above eg., each
user should be limited to 100GB storage capacity).

Or is the only way this can be done is by creating separate quota for
each user [which seems like tedious process and cannot scale]?

Thanks,
Soumya

2017-08-03 Thread Artyom Lukianov
Hi Soumya,

   1. Yes, you correct a quota is shared among all quota consumers.
   2. No, it not possible, the single possibility as you said is to create
a separate quota for each user. I believe it was designed to make quota for
group of users at first place, but I think it can be a good RFE :)

[ovirt-users] Lost disk image on guest

2017-08-03 Thread Paul-Erik Törrönen
Updated the ovirt to latest stable and after the host reboot (hardware
was relocated) all of the VMs on the host are ok except one which has
lost it's disk image (it still exists physically on the storage device).

Uploading this image to the storage fails (I get the usual initiating -
0/XXXMB uploaded - Paused by system, the ovirt-imageio-proxy is running
on the engine and has nothing in it's log), and I'm also unable to
create any new disks when editing the problematic VM (the
Attach/Create/+/--buttons are all grayed out).

The question is: Is the only course to 'fix' this situation to delete
the whole VM and install it from scratch?

Despite the package is noarch, it should be pulished both on x86_64 at
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/opstools/x86_64 and on ppc64le at
http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/opstools/ppc64le or at
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/opstools/ppc64le

Sadly the altarch publisher is not working in CentOS. Opened another bug to
track it on https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=13633

[ovirt-users] Deleting old export backups in oVirt

2017-08-03 Thread Wesley Stewart
I am using a script to make weekly backups of my VMs, but I really dont
need more than 1-2 weeks per VM. I pulled open my NFS share where the
export domain points to, but all the VM's have a long guid and I cannot see
which folder corresponds to which backup.

For example, when I click "Import" and then "load" one of the backup VMs
listed is:
Ubuntu_Server_BACKUP_20170731_012832

All I see are folders that look like:
"f42fd734-e5e6-964e-87D1-8dbc554f0e19"

Going into the folder there is a "META" file, which I can open, but there
is no reference to the actual VM name. Is there an easy way to tell which
folder goes to which VM?

Re: [ovirt-users] supervdsmd IOError to /dev/stdout

Did it change the file permissions when you copied
svdsm.logger.conf.rpmnew? No, the file permission were the same root:root
0644

Yes reproducible with 3.6 config file - it is definitely due to the 3.6
svdsm.logger.conf: when I copied the rpmnew file from 4.1, it works again.
