[ovirt-users] Re: [ovirt-announce] [ANN] oVirt 4.4.4 is now generally available

2021-01-09 Thread Bernardo Juanicó
Hello, considering we want to do a new oVirt hyper-converged
deployment on CentOS for a production environment what should we do
regarding the OS?
Considering Centos Stream is on tech preview and Centos 8 is near EOL, what
is the correct path?
Install CentOS 8.3 and use it until EOL and then update the hosts to
centos stream when it becomes stable?
install CentOS Stream even though it is on tech preview?

[ovirt-users] Timeout in "Add HE disks" task

2021-01-09 Thread Jiří Sléžka
Hello,

I am trying to upgrade RHV4.3.10 (standalone) to RHV4.4.3 (HE) in one
step which is probably not supported but in case of our oVirt cluster it
worked well.

I am using hosted-engine --deploy with answer file

hosted-engine --deploy --restore-from-file=backup/backup.tar
--config-append=answer-file_pontus.txt

I can pass until this task

[ INFO  ] TASK [ovirt.ovirt.hosted_engine_setup : Add HE disks]

then ansible fails with a "Timeout exceed while waiting on result state
of the entity."

In the engine I can see that he_virtio_disk is successfuly created and
in OK state but he_sanlock is in LOCKED state. Shared storage domain is FC.

Here is part of ovirt-hosted-engine-setup-ansible-create_target_vm.log

...
{
"_ansible_item_label": {
"content": "hosted_engine_sanlock",
"description": "Hosted-Engine sanlock disk",

Do have anybody an idea where could be problem?

Thanks in advance,

Jiri

[ovirt-users] Re: 2021 first ovirt network question

2021-01-09 Thread Gilboa Davara
Hello,

Can you run iperf3 simultaneously on multiple clients?
The idea is simple, check that indeed you are getting more than 5-10GbE
aggregated bandwidth in/from the machine.

As for comparing the performance to rdp - I'm not sure you are comparing
apples to apples. As far as I remember, by default rdp clients drop the
quality of the display when faced with limited bandwidth. No sure
virt-viewer can do the same (I'll let the kind people @RedHat confirm deny
the above).
Either, I'd suggest you start by verifying that you are indeed getting
10GbE from the clients to the display network.
