Re: [Users] v2v - converting windows VMs

2012-12-21 Thread Alex Leonhardt
Hi,

Anyone got any clues about this please ? I'm due to convert some Windows XP
and Windows 7 VMs from VMWare to oVirt and would really appreciate if
someone could let me know where to find that Tools CD.

Thanks
Alex

 Hi,

i've read up about converting Windows VMs and it needs some Guest Tools
 CD -

 https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization_for_Servers/2.2/html/Administration_Guide/virt-v2v-scripts.html#convert-windows-guest

where can one get that CD/iso image and whatever else is required ?

[Users] ovirt-shell bug ?

2012-12-21 Thread Alex Leonhardt
Hi,

am trying to use .ovirtshellrc with a set user, pass and url, however, I
keep getting this instead:

error: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ''

and I remain disconnected. Using the same url and creds to connect manually
works - is it a bug or just some setting ?

Re: [Users] Bug in ovirt-deploy script SOLVED

2012-12-21 Thread Joop
Hi Alon,

I'm using a Cluster with the Gluster bit checked and when adding that
 host
it errors out with a rather annoying error: package 'v' not found.
Turns out that the last line of
 Mgmt01/usr/share/ovirt-host-deploy/plugins/ovirt-host-deploy/gluster/packages.py
is wrong, there is a ',' missing. I changed it to:
 def _packages(self):
 self.packager.installUpdate(('vdsm-gluster',))
And when I now try to deploy my host in the gluster Cluster it tries
 to
 install vdsm-gluster package and dependancies.

 Thanks for finding that, fixed:
 http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/10279/

Updated my managment host and I have the fix, thanks for the quick resolve.

Still have a problem with vdsm but will create another post for that.

Joop

[Users] ovirt-shell, action vm vmhost start issue ?

2012-12-21 Thread Alex Leonhardt
Hi,

am trying to start a VM with special kernel and initrd options :

[oVirt shell (connected)]# action vm cent6 start --vm-os-kernel
/var/www/html/repo/centos/6/os/x86_64/images/pxeboot/vmlinuz
--vm-os-initRd

--vm-os-boot {ip=x.x.x.x;netmask=x.x.x.x;gateway=x.x.x.x;dns=x.x.x.x}

However, I keep getting this back :

error: initRd is invalid argument segment.

Eventhough, the help says that it's a valid command option :

Only things that can cause this is 'timeout' or url port
in wrong format (non-int),

can you show me the content of your .ovirtshellrc and let me know what cli

Yes, I have actually to check if it is a real bug or me not doing things
correctly.
I searched in Storage part of local_datacenter wihout finding anything...

But actually after I recreated the ISO domain this way:

- go to /ISO of my host
- delete the classic uuid named subsirectory inside it
- create iso domain named ISO, pointing at /ISO

I got this at my System level, Storage tab:

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwoPbcrMv8mvd0tzMl9mM0NrZkU

so actually it seems that the original ISO domain it was there probably
I had to go there also at the beginning
Or the engine-setup is expected to already bind the ISO to local_cluster
storage?

I have to recreate from scratch and directly go to the System -- Storage
tab to see if right after install I can see there the ISO defined during
setup.
And in case open more precise bugzilla then.

At this time is it risky to delete the unattached ISO domain that points to
the same

NFS export path: f18aio.localdomain.local:/ISO

as the in-use ISO domain...?

Re: [Users] F18 AIO with nightly build I don't find ISO domain

2012-12-21 Thread Adrian Gibanel
When I try to reinstall again (in a test machine, not in production because you
know that if you issue rm -rf DIR it wipes everything) I always make sure that:

/home/storage
and
/home/iso

are deleted, that's it, they don't exist. Then the engine-setup does not
complain.

I've always thought that that's the way that engine-setup works but I might be
wrong.

Asunto: [Users] F18 AIO with nightly build I don't find ISO domain

 Hello,
 during AIO install with

 ovirt-engine-setup-3.2.0-1.20121217.git1e01c00.fc18.noarch

I specified ISO domain not accepting default but setting /ISO

Host correctly activated but no ISO domain found.

 I can see:

 [g.cecchi@f18aio ~]$ cat /etc/exports
 /ISO 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0(rw) #rhev installer

 [g.cecchi@f18aio ~]$ sudo exportfs -v
 /ISO 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0(rw,wdelay,root_squash,no_subtree_check)

I cannot add the domain because I get:

Error while executing action New Local Storage Domain: Error in
creating a Storage Domain. The selected storage path is not empty
(probably contains another Storage Domain). Either remove the
existing Storage Domain from this path, or change the Storage path).
