michal - shouldn't mime base be available?

Sorry, it did not work.
And there is no "monitor" in IE(10) if the monitor type is
SPICE now
even if I installed the SpiceX.cab.

Yes, when choosing Spice, monitor option is greyed out in the
Console
Options in my IE10.

Many people are using IE whose version is less than 11 for now,
which I
think will last for a long time. Will it be possible to use spice in
IE(8,9,10) in the near future?

that's spice.html5 which has an issue, not spice client (virtviewer)
which can be launched via mime based launch on windows for any browser

Re: [Users] Configure Local Storage Error

2013-07-15 Thread Cleaning Agent
I'll do that as soon as I can. After I implemented a workaround through
using dd functions with image files and iSCSI the system began
experiencing SoftLock CPU errors which I can't seem to resolve so now
I'm going to need to reload and plan on doing that tomorrow. I will
post them then.

Thanks!

Since the spice and monitor option are greyed out in IE10, I have to use

When will it come back?

I'm not sure if this is the "right" way to do it, but I was able to:

# mount -o rw,remount /run/initramfs/live
# cd /run/initramfs/lib/grub
edit grub.cfg and add biosdevname=0 to kernel line

You can do that and it will work. You can also add entries to the
host at installation time and they'll be persisted. I don't believe
that this process of editing grub.cfg will persist across upgrades,
however.

How would I add the entries to the host at installation time? By adding
them to the PXE boot options?

Yes

Could you file an RFE to add a method to edit and persist the grub
command line?

Will do.

I'm not sure if this is the "right" way to do it, but I was able to:

# mount -o rw,remount /run/initramfs/live
# cd /run/initramfs/lib/grub
edit grub.cfg and add biosdevname=0 to kernel line

You can do that and it will work. You can also add entries to the host
at installation time and they'll be persisted. I don't believe that
this process of editing grub.cfg will persist across upgrades, however.

Could you file an RFE to add a method to edit and persist the grub
command line?

Sorry, it did not work.
And there is no "monitor" in IE(10) if the monitor type is SPICE now
even if I installed the SpiceX.cab.

Yes, when choosing Spice, monitor option is greyed out in the Console Options
in my IE10.

Many people are using IE whose version is less than 11 for now, which I think
will last for a long time. Will it be possible to use spice in IE(8,9,10) in
the near future?

Unfortunatly you can't. "unassigned" puts the host in transition and its

Can you help me with a stacktrace of your engine with the output of "jstack

In fact after my final recover operations (change permissions of
vdsm.log and reboot of host and engine servers), after a few hours I
connected to the infra and I discovered that actually it recovered
automatically after a few minutes of engine reboot, putting online
host and all related storage domains and I was able to start without
problems my VMs again.
If confirmed fixed in 3.2.2 I'm going to update in coming days after
this activity I had to do today.

details:
reboot of host at 16:54 with start of vdsmd
reboot of engine at 17:34

these logs in engine should show host becoming operational again after
4 minutes if I understand correctly

this is the expected behavior.
I'm not sure if the vdsm.log being root has been handled in 3.2.2. can
someone confirm that? (or just post the question to the vdsm list or at
ovirt irc channel)

it may be, but then in vdsm for each video device we set it to 65536K if there
is only one monitor or 32768K when there are more. This is currently hardcoded
Also, check out bug 787578 which we planned for 3.3 but it missed it,
unfortunately.

that seems to be the only way at the moment…
