Its a common (almost default) mistake people who are just getting started with virtualization make. [ovirt-users] password with the character not valid during engine-setup
Hello, It is not the first time I've noticed that I couldn't choose the password of my own when running engine-setup. I'm used to build my passsords with and each time I choose this one for the db postgres user or the adminb account, engine-setup accept it, but it not usable anymore when trying to log on. I 've found the same issuewhen installing engine-reports, it was aboslutely impossible to log in the report portal. When I change this password into an other one without this character, it works as expected. My keyboard is a french one using fr_FR.UTF8 encoding, but I've never met any other issue expect this one. Hello, I imported a vm as a template from the glance public repo included in ovirt 3.4. When creating a new VM (azerty) based on this template, I run once with cloud-init. The first boot behaves normally and my vm azerty goes up. When trying to reboot, it always fails and I can't use it anymore. In addition, a new empty externel-azerty vm is created with the external prefix by a mysterious non interactive user. When I delete it, it is automatically recreated unless I remove azerty. I've just tried to remove external-azerty vm afer deleting azerty, but external-azerty still always comes back! I tried after restarting engine but I seems I can't remove it anymore! Hello List, i am very new to ovirt. I am setting up a 2 Node Cluster with GlusterFS Sync Replication. I was about to buy a 2-Port Intel Gbit nic for each host which is about 150Eur each. However, for a little extra of 180Eur you get a 10GBit Infiniband - MCX311A-XCAT. I would like to have quick opinions on this. Should i pay a little more and then get 10MBit instead of 2GBit bonded? Can anyone give me any pointers on the steps I need to do (after the intial ovirt-release34.rpm yum install) to install and configure ovirt-node on a CentOS or Fedora host? Hello, I've been unsuccessfully trying to make work a custom yalm script with the cloud-init option in 3.4.1. All other native UI parameters are correctly configured (hostname...) [ovirt-users] vm boots on gpxe instead of hardisk
Hi all, I created a vm from a glance fetched template and this vm always run into gpxe priority while it is ordered by harddisk in priority. When I run it once, hard disk is unvailaible because the default disk is no bootable. When making it bootable, it becomes ungreyed and harddisk is is priority but the vm continue to boot to the gpxe. Infiniband is good for GlusterFS / storage connection but never never never never ever use it as a vm network - believe me it's a nightmare. So you would direct connect your 2 nodes as otherwise you would have to buy an Infiniband switch as well (btw I'm not sure if direct connect is possible, but I guess it is). Keep in mind that Infiniband cables aren't cheap, too. Why don't you go for 10Gbit/s Ethernet? I have a local nfs mount but don´t experience that problem - Why does the system reboot instead of powering down as instructed (?)? the reboot is caused by wdmd. Docs says that if the watchdogs aren´t responding that a reset will follow. So our init 0 is overruled because of the hanging watchdog. Why it is hanging I don´t know. Could be my chipset, could be the version of wdmd-kernel. Only thing is I know it didn´t happen always in the past but that is as much as I remember, sorry.
