[ovirt-users] Have some issues I am hoping to get resolution - farely new to administrating oVirt
Hi All, Will try to be brief. I have had the following issue: Trying with spice console sessions access on VMs, was working till last week. I get:Unable to connect to libvirt with URI: [none]. I also tried to access through ovirt-shell, the window pops up and disappears immediately. Revision: oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.1.1-1.el6, recently upgraded to, to resolve a snapshot removal issue. I started seeing this after adding a new host to my oVirt Cluster. I have also recently had a problem had the root directory filling up, I have added space, but the disk was full a couple of days before it was noticed. I have taken over management of this cluster, while I have root to the host, vms, and engine - I don't have the admin password to oVirt Engine, I would like to correct this as well. Thanks in advance for any help. George ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt and glusterfs setup
thanks for all the replies on this… very enlightening. I’ve got a few servers that I am going to deploy with – some dell 2950s and luckily they came out of production recently and all have dual 10Gb cards in them. I’m not sure what they have for local storage yet, so may need to beef that up, but I think it’s going to be a good base lab. I am not planning on anything production, just want to get ahead of the game and this is pretty much just proof of concept at this stage – maybe in a years time or so, once Redhat have certified it, if they do… Thanks Bill From: Darrell Budic Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 9:51 PM To: Donny D Cc: users@ovirt.orgmailto:users@ovirt.org Subject: Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt and glusterfs setup you ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users

I have had the following issue: Trying with spice console sessions access on VMs, was working till last week. I get: “ Unable to connect to libvirt with URI: [none]. ” Can you try vnc? You can also try to configure your browser to not automatically run the spice/vnc client but just download the file you get and look at it. Just try from a machine without vnc/spice clients/plugins. Also check/post logs from /var/log/ovirt-engine . I also tried to access through ovirt-shell, the window pops up and disappears immediately. How did you add it with no admin password? I have also recently had a problem had the root directory filling up, I have added space, but the disk was full a couple of days before it was noticed. Did you restart (machine, engine, postgres) after making space? Re: [ovirt-users] Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Insufficient amount of free MACs.
Hi Martin, Did you restart your engine prior to these operations? Yes...and i restarted after the modifications... Isn't possible, that you have it configured with some much smaller range and forgot to restart prior to using new range? No.I configured with big range at first and after that there was no modifications.. Also can you give me version of your system? I am using the ovirt 3.5.1.1 Thanks, punit On Wed, Feb 18, 2015 at 11:36 PM, Martin Mucha mmu...@redhat.com wrote: Hi, so the syntax of MAC addresses ranges is ok, log confirmed that I was looking at the right place. I tried to do some tests with pool repeatedly depleting all MAC addresses in random order and then putting all of them back, and everytime I got back to empty pool, so it seems that pool itself does not leak. I'll try to find potential problem, but I'll ask first one more question Martin (the other one) suggested. Did you restart your engine prior to these operations? Isn't possible, that you have it configured with some much smaller range and forgot to restart prior to using new range? Also can you give me version of your system? Newer versions do set ranges differently than via engine-config (also without need to restart).
