Re: [ovirt-users] Locked NFS SD

2015-04-13 Thread shimano
This happened when I tried to switch the SD "mi-ci-3" to maintenance mode
while copying template's disk image from "mi-ci-1" to "mi-ci-5" (and
"mi-ci-3" also had this image already copied). I have already fixed this by
some changes in DB and destroy SD. My installation is not self-hosted
deploy.

I'll try to dig logs from that situation today and post it here (I produce
really a loot of logs)...

Yes, this is how it works now
We have a RFE for letting oVirt engine itself serve as a proxy and then you are
supposed to do that with one host as well ...

Hi

oVirt power management handling requires another host in the fenced host
Cluster/DC except the fenced host that is served as a proxy for the operation
It means that when a fencing operation is required, oVirt will search for a
proxy host and the relevant scripts in the proxy host will invoke the fencing
operation on the target.
Please make sure that you have another Host in the Cluster/DC which is in UP
status or any other status that does not mark connectivity issues

[ovirt-users] ap7920 fencing device does not work

2015-04-13 Thread Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I am trying to use ap7920 as fencing device for ovirt 3.5.1

I have configured all parameters correctly but I get only:

2015-04-13 20:58:21,704 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.FenceExecutor]
(ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-10) Failed to run Power Management command on Host , no
running proxy Host was found.

In my ovirt node I do fence_apc -a 10.1.0.208 -l apc -p apc -o status -n 7 -x

and I get a correct reply "Status: ON"

So command line is working.

What can I do?

Please help me!

Thanks,
Mario

Hi Bob,

Sorry for the delay--are you still experiencing this problem?

I tried to reproduce this in my environment, but didn't see the above
errors. Errno 2 is ENOENT, meaning part of the pathname in the mkdir()
call doesn't exist. I suspect something went wrong before this, and this
is just a symptom. Do you recall any errors creating the export domain?
Does it look properly mounted on the host and contain the images directory
from the above log snippet?

I'd suggest re-creating the export domain, if that's feasible, and
re-trying. If that doesn't work, please send logs with the re-creation
and export failure and we'll dig a bit deeper.

Do you know the reason it was locked? Can you provide engine logs?
(The domain status can be updated manually in the DB, but it would be best
to understand the issue first and do something less invasive if possible.)

can you explain a bit more on the architecture you would like to present?

The project isn't build in such a way you need to be a developer to run it
(though few manual steps needs to be taken ATM)
on a linux machine:
1. git clone
https://github.com/mgoldboi/oVirt-Dockerized.githttps://github.com/mgoldboi/oVirt-Dockerized.git
2. cd oVirt-Dockerized/Build
3. sudo make ovirt

this procedure will build latest oVirt version container and a database
container initialize with oVirt scheme.

> So I see that you have made a 3.5.0 engine for docker but:
>
> - will you provide 3.5.1? It seems to me I cannot upgrade it easily

Since i haven't seen so much interest from the community around this area,
I haven't generated new images for 3.5.1 (only for the clean rpm image).

regarding upgrades, since this basically a POC for ovirt in a container,
upgrade isn't supported yet.
which means you have 2 options ATM:
-upgrade from within the container[1]
-swap the oVirt container (3.5.0 -> 3.5.1) and stay with the same DB (you may
need to upgrade the scheme manually, save/restore certificates) [2][3]

> - if I install a standard ovirt-engine or a dockerized engine now, can I

same procedure as above.
let me know if you have more questions.

You should not do this, as there are many differences
between real hardware and a virtual machine, which makes
time synching in VMs a little more complicated than on
real hardware.

you might want to google "tinker panic vm" and you
eventually land here:

[ovirt-users] Annoying/wrong message in "Tasks tab"

2015-04-13 Thread Arman Khalatyan
Hi,

ovirt-gui with message:
"Handling non responsive Host babserv.cls"
But this is not true my host is running and green in the gui, even

Are there way to fix it?Some how remove this misleading message from
the Tasks Tab?

We use sanlock for locking.

Can you add the log files with the error?

Oved, Eli, do you have a SQL line for dropping it from the table?
