[ovirt-users] [3.6] API - Internal Server Error

2015-11-18 Thread Maksim Naumov
After some time, API stopped work.
When I try to run any request I see only "Internal Server Error" and the
log like this:

2015-11-18 17:53:05,634 ERROR
[org.ovirt.engine.extension.aaa.jdbc.binding.api.AuthnExtension] (default
task-314) [] Unexpected Exception invoking:

Re: [ovirt-users] [3.6] API - Internal Server Error

2015-11-18 Thread Maksim Naumov
Here is my versions:

Name: ovirt-engine
Version : 3.6.0.3
Release : 1.el7.centos

Name: ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-jdbc
Version : 1.0.1
Release : 1.el7

About the log:

engile.log contains only one line related to this error, you can see it in
the first message. But server.log has a bit more.

Currently, I do the following:

I am running the script which is asking for API every 10 sec for a list of
current running VMs.
After some hours (1-2 hours) the script reporting that there are no VMs.
I went to the API endpoint by myself and everything that I was able to see
is Internal error.
I stopped the script and in a couple of minutes API worked again.

Thank you

Hi,

could you please take a look what versions do you have installed?

  rpm -qi ovirt-engine
  rpm -qi ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-jdbc

Could you please also send your server.log and engine.log?

Thanks

Re: [ovirt-users] remove volume from DB

2015-11-18 Thread Sahina Bose

Are you talking of gluster volumes shown in Volumes tab?

If you have removed only the gluster volumes and not the gluster nodes -
the oVirt engine will update the configuration with backend gluster.
However, if the gluster nodes are also removed from backend - the nodes
should be in Non-responsive state in the UI?
You could put all nodes in gluster cluster in maintenance mode, and
forceremove(checkbox provided) the nodes.

The certificate is needed to secure the SSL communication. You can do
without it, adding "insecure=True" to the constructor of the API object,
but then the identity of the server could be forged and you won't notice.

That should work, but when you are doing this kind of query it is
usually better to let the server do the search. You can achieve that
using the same query language that is used in the GUI search bar. For
example, in the GUI search bar you can type "Hosts: cluster=mycluster".
With the SDK you can do the same, using the "list" method and the
"query" parameter:

  hosts = api.hosts.list(query="cluster=mycluster")
  for host in hosts:
print(host.get_name())

You can open the "params.py" file
(/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/ovirtsdk/xml/params.py if you are
using the RPM packags) and look for the corrsponding class: Host,
Cluster, DataCenter etc. There you will see all the available "get_..."
methods.

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I'm not able to find out the cause. Could you please
enable debug log for aaa-jdbc extension using following steps and
send me logs again?

1. Edit file
/usr/share/ovirt-engine/share/ovirt-engine/services/ovirt-engine/ovirt-engine.xml.in

2. Locate line that contains following comment:

   and append following lines:

3. Restart ovirt-engine service:

   EL7/Fedora22:
 systemctl restart ovirt-engine

   EL6:
 service ovirt-engine restart

Thanks

[ovirt-users] Change ovirtmgmt VLAN?

2015-11-18 Thread Chris Adams
I have an oVirt cluster with 7 hosts. Each host has two ethernet links
to a switch stack, bonded together, with several VLANs (including the
ovirtmgmt VLAN) on top of the bond.

Now I need to get one more VLAN trunked into the cluster, but there's a
catch: whoever set up this network initially (pre-oVirt) used the same
VLAN ID for the server network and for a network management VLAN. These
are two different VLANs but both with the same ID.

So, my question: is it feasible to change the ovirtmgmt VLAN ID (e.g.
from 15 to 16)? If so, what would be the impact? Would I have to shut
down the VMs to do that?

Fixed typos*

Team,

Is there anything out there in the darkness of the internet that shows
how to attach a *usb* device to a guest from the host?
I cant get this to work at all not even from the guest using spice.

Thank you for your time and help.

Regards.
