[ovirt-users] OVF_STORE issue after upgrading from 3.6.1 to 3.6.2

2016-01-26 Thread Luiz Claudio Prazeres Goncalves
Hi, after upgrading from 3.6.1 to 3.6.2 I'm getting an error with
OVF_STORE. How can I recreate the OVF_STORE? In another post someone said
that i would be recreated after 1 hour, but not seems to be my case... Do I
have a way to manually regenerate ?

[ovirt-users] [ANN] oVirt 3.6.2 Final Release is now available

2016-01-26 Thread Sandro Bonazzola
The oVirt Project is pleased to announce today the general availability of
oVirt 3.6.2.

This latest community release includes several new features, such as:

   - More feedback about the status of the recovery
   - Rebalance option have been disabled on the menu for non-distributed
   volumes
   - Host in maintenance mode now stop glusterd and glusterfsd processes
   - Host activation now restart glusterd
   - Improved DNF support
   - Improved MOM performances
   - Added the ability to override the Storage Domain name field

oVirt is an open-source, openly-governed enterprise virtualization
management application, developed by a global community. You can use the
oVirt management interface (oVirt Engine) to manage hardware nodes, storage
and network resources, and to deploy and monitor virtual machines running
in your data center.

If you are familiar with VMware products, oVirt is conceptually similar to
vSphere. oVirt serves as the bedrock for Red Hat's Enterprise
Virtualization product, and it is the "upstream" project where new features
are developed prior to their inclusion in Red Hat's supported product
offering.

At this point, /some/file should be the top layer of the vm, instead of
the latest snapshot of the vm.

Can you add the output of qemu-img info /some/file?

Can you add the output of qemu-img info on the lastest snapshot of the vm?

What are the results of this check?

Can you answer this on the bug, so we have more information for libvirt and qemu
developers?

So this happens only when mirroring a volume that is a result of a live
snapshot, right?

You may find more info in gluster mount log, which should be at:

/var/log/glusterfs/:.log

We (ovirt storage developers) did not try arbiter volumes yet, so this
is basically
unsupported :-)

The recommended setup is replica 3. Can you try to create a small
replica 3 volume,
just to check that replica 3 works for you?

The engine will create the OVF_STORE only if it correctly imported the
hosted-engine storage domain; can you please check that?
If it's still not there and you are upgrading, maybe you have just a
left-over from previous release where the auto-import of the hosted-engine
storage domain wasn't that stable. Please trying manually cleaning it.

Hi, has far as I understand when using block storage disk images are
just logical volumes. So what happens when I snapshot a VM? a new LV is
created or what? I tried to poke around in my test env without success.

Thank you

[ovirt-users] Disable spice proxy by default

2016-01-26 Thread Cristian Mammoli

Hi, is there a way to:
1) Define spice proxy as cluster level
2) Disable it by default and only enable it when needed

The reason behind this is that I want users to connect to vdi machines
directly when they are in the office and only enable proxy manually when
they try to access from outside

Re: [ovirt-users] Where are snapshots stored when using block storage?

2016-01-26 Thread Tal Nisan
Hi Cristian,
Yes, a new LV is created for the snapshot, you can see the new created LV
by logging to the host and running:
# pvscan --cache
# lvs
You will see all the LVs including the new one in the VG that goes by the
same name as the storage domain containing the disk

Re: [ovirt-users] OVF_STORE issue after upgrading from 3.6.1 to 3.6.2

2016-01-26 Thread Luiz Claudio Prazeres Goncalves
In fact the hosted-engine storage domain was not created on 3.6.1 and ,
therefore, that's the OVF_STORE was not there.

It's a gluster storage where the engine is being stored, so how can I
"force" the generation of the hosted-engine storage domain ... it's not
being generated automatically, even waiting > 1 h.

Thanks

[ovirt-users] Cannot clone snapshots

2016-01-26 Thread Cristian Mammoli

Hi, I tried this script https://github.com/wefixit-AT/oVirtBackup
which basically does:
Snapshot a vm
clone the snapshot
delete the snapshot
export the clone to export domain
delete the clone

It worked fine for 4 vms then exited with error:
Message: VDSM kvm02 command failed: low level Image copy failed
VDSM command failed: Image does not exist in domain:
u'image=a651c514-a81b-4cfc-a9bc-0bc4caf51568,
domain=239c7309-7e4c-4545-8137-6bf1d43cad71'

Now I'm not able to clone snapshots anymore, not even manually everytime
I get the same error:

This is engine.log when I snapshot the vm:

By the way, I've tried to ,manually, add the engine storage domain , but
failed... it's a wrong procedure, but I did it before talking to Simone :(
 ... it was manually removed later

even after removing the wrong one the "correct one" was not
automatically generated even waiting > 1 h.

And also could you try to login using extension test tool:

  ovirt-engine-extensions-tool aaa login-user --profile=internal
--user-name=admin --password=interactive:

and post the output of the command.

Thanks a lot

You should be able to change it from the GUI: Edit -> Show Advanced
Options -> System -> General -> Provide Custom serial number policy ->
Custom serial number.

You can also change it with the API, for example with the Python SDK:

---8<---
#!/usr/bin/python

from ovirtsdk.api import API
from ovirtsdk.xml import params

# Connect to the server:
api = API(
url="https://rhevm36.example.com/ovirt-engine/api;,
username="admin@internal",
password="...",
ca_file="/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem",
debug=True
)

# Find the VM:
vm = api.vms.get(name="myvm")

# Set a custom serial number:
vm.set_serial_number(
params.SerialNumber(
policy="custom",
value="myserialnumber",
)
)
vm.update()

# Disconnect:
api.disconnect()

Hi Joop,

Thanks for your response, and sorry for the long delay in mine. I had a
chance to test adding again and catch the logs around that operation. I
am attaching the engine logs and vdsm logs of the hypervisor that was
responsible for the storage operations.

Also, I have the following:

 [gluster]
 allowed_replica_counts = 1,2,3

in /etc/vdsm/vdsm.conf.

The volume was successfully mounted and I see the following in it after
trying to add:

 arik@t2-virt01:~$ sudo mount -t glusterfs t2-gluster01b:arbtest /mnt/
 arik@t2-virt01:~$ ls -ltr /mnt/
 total 0
 -rwxr-xr-x 1 vdsm kvm  0 Jan 20 08:08 __DIRECT_IO_TEST__
 drwxr-xr-x 3 vdsm kvm 54 Jan 20 08:08 3d31af0b-18ad-45c4-90f1-18e2f804f34b

I hope you can see something interesting in these logs!

Regards,
-Arik

2016-01-26 Thread Marcelo Leandro
After engine-setup from ovirt-engine-3.5.6.2-1.el7.centos to
ovirt-engine-3.6.1.3-1.el7.centos, I'm not able to login anymore. The
engine.log say

Here the setup log:

And here the engine.log:

Need urgent assistance. Thank you in advance.

2016-01-26 Thread Martin Perina
Hi Marcelo,

sorry for late response, too many tasks on me at the moment :-(

As Eli said important issues started at 2016-01-20, but engine-setup
log you posted is dated at 2016-01-22. So, did you perform any
upgrade on important configuration changed on Jan 20th? If so could
you please share also this setup log?

Regarding login: I haven't found any issue logging, I see many successful
logins of admin@internal in the log. So are you able to login into webadmin
or not?

Thanks

Martin Perina
