major outage which affected some of the oVirt services, like the CI, e-mail

I assume that you are talking about an ISCSI storage domain.
In order to extend such a SD, you have two choices:
- Add another LUN to the storage domain. ("Manage Domain" , select an
additional free LUN, click "OK"
- Extend a LUN that is already part of the SD in the storage server and

Hi Kai,
DNS configuration should be supported in the next oVirt version (4.2).
In the meantime, editing the config manually as you did is the way to go.

oVirt has originally supporting to set the host default gateway only for
the management network (ovirtmgmt).
The need to set it on a different network has been raised and for 4.1 an
intermediate solution has been given,
