It is. Locate the iso domain on your storage server.
Inside it you'll find a directory whose name is a random
uuid, inside it 'images', and inside it a directory named:
'----'.
You can put your iso files inside that one. Make sure they
are readable by user:group 36:36.

[ovirt-users] VLAN trunk

2017-11-12 Thread Magnus Isaksson

Hello,

In VMware you create a vlan and for tag you choose "all" or 4095.
What is the equivalent in oVirt?

I am setting up a pfSense firewall and i dont want to create a new NIC
for every VLAN i want in the firewall, so in VMware im creating 3 nics,
WAN, VGT and HA Sync, with that i can add as many internal VLAN i want.

[ovirt-users] 4.1 Engine - Networking Question

2017-11-12 Thread andre...@starlett.lv
Hi,

I'm installing my first oVirt system and have networking questions.
Test PC have 2 ethernet interfaces:
enp4s0, bridged to ovirtmgr, IP=192.168.0.171
enp5s1, IP=192.168.0.172

What is best networking setup for several guest VMs running, and if
guest VM is using ovirtmgr as NIC, what are IP parameters of that NIC
within guest? DHCP ? Or 192.168.0.174, etc. ?

After tests system will be moved to HP server with several NICs, some
NICs will be shared among linux VM guests, and net throughput critical
will use their own dedicated NICs. Should I down 2nd (throughput
critical) them in host system, so guest see and attach them as pure
hardware?

Thanks in advance for any help.

[ovirt-users] 4.1 engine-iso-uploader / root password glitch

2017-11-12 Thread andre...@starlett.lv
Hi,

I'm trying to upload iso with this coomand.
engine-iso-uploader --ssh-user=root --iso-domain=iso upload suse.iso

Please provide the REST API password for the admin@internal oVirt Engine
user (CTRL+D to abort):
This go OK.

However, then it asks root password, I enter it, then it asks again and
again. Root password is correct for sure, becuase I can coonect vis ssh
from terminal.

How to fix this problem?
May be its possible just to copy files manually?

Thanks in advance.

These are nightly repos, not official oVirt ones, so they are not
production.
Also, the repos weren't down, its just the release rpms, so I don't see a
reason to communicate it more than it was already, but just in case any of
the users got affected, I'm adding this thread to the users list as well.

Dear Team,

Anyone can support me, how to configure Multiple Consoles for single VM in
ovirt.

“Currently I can access only one spice console”

I read the document from as I mentioned in the below link

https://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/virt/multiple-consoles/

If I correctly understood your question, in edit VM you have a drop down menu
like in this image:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wk1d_4-Ye0C7s0xxYAKIG5-rIJ2M2puH/view?usp=sharing

where you can choose SPICE, VNC or SPICE+VNC

If you mean more than one user to concurrently connect to spice console of the
same VM from different clients, in the same edit window you have to select
"Advanced Parameters" and then select "Disable strict user checking" like this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VfBzukJAk7-h_1W9w8oEFgvc8_KN2Rn2/view?usp=sharing

That’s not for concurrent console from 2 different clients, second connection
disconnects the active one. That’s not supported in SPICE and neither in VNC by
default. For VNC a vdsm hook can do the trick or use the brwser-based novnc
client which lacks the disconnect functionality so it allows you to open 2
sessions

I didn’t try it recently, but should/may work

I'd advise cleaning up some space in that domain (is that the master

very old release already.

This sounds like a different issue (which is ALSO fixed in latest 4.1 -
https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/77432/ perhaps?).
I assume you'll keep running into issues, some of which we've already fixed
- I hope you can upgrade soon to the latest 4.1.

OK. So it can be connected, but fails later on.

Perhaps you want to check that too, but can be done later.

Please check/share the host-deploy log.
You can find it on the engine machine, under /var/log/ovirt-engine/host-deploy.
Search there for 'Hardware does not support virtualization' and look at the
checks before that line. Or just upload the file somewhere and share a link.
