Will work, but you have to think how to handle migration of the
virtualized server to another node.

I would recommend not using ovirtmgmt for the DMZ traffic, but creating
a new logical network in oVirt and assign this new logical network to
the desired network interface of the node. This will setup the second
bridge automatically.

[ovirt-users] Virtualized server & oVirt Node on different subnets

2017-12-19 Thread andreil1
Hi,

I have oVirt node running on internal network, address range 192.168.0.x, and
need to install virtualized server on DMZ zone 192.168.1.x.
Server has several NICs.
DMZ NIC will be connected directly to router with firewall.
What is the best solution ?

1) Undefine one NIC on CentOS host / node, and assign IP on virtualized server
in passthrough mode.
2) Create 2nd oVirtmgmt bridge and link it to NIC on DMZ (if thats possible at
all).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Roberto,

It's a known issue and caused by the fix for BZ - 1477589
It will also be fixed with this bug.

This message shouldn't affect the migration.

Cheers)

[ovirt-users] Host has not default route

2017-12-19 Thread Roberto Nunin
Hi all

I'm doing further tests deploying from scratch, with the same hardware, one
Gluster based hyperconverged LAB.

I'm deploying ovirt-node'ng with ISO image:
ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.2-pre-2017121416.

All the process works fine, no more hangs when HE deploy is at the end.

Hosts 2 and 3 now can be imported (insted to be added).
Storage main domain is added and HE storage automatically imported.

One issue: Host 2 and 3 show me:

Host has no default route

In Host> General tab.
Moreover I'm not able to migrate HE, even if the hosted-engine --vm-status
looks good, like in the attachment.

Could the issue of "Host has no default route" blocking migrations ?
Hosts are online, all of three.

How to work around the "Host has no default route" message ?
I've seen a bug, 1477589, but no solution, till now.

Any hints ?

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt Node 4.1 question, writing files to /root and RPMs

2017-12-19 Thread Kasturi Narra
Hello Matt,

All the partitions will be persisted when gluster is installed on
the ovirt node since gluster recommends user not to create bricks in root
directory. If the gluster bricks are created in root partition then once
the update of the node is done, you will not be able to see any of the
bricks.

Hope this helps !!!

Thanks
kasturi.

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt with Hosted Engine and 4 Hosts

2017-12-19 Thread Kasturi Narra
Hello Gabriel,

Any specific reason you are looking to expand storage for
engine volume?

If you are running a HC setup recommended way of upgrading the
setup is to add three more hosts to the existing cluster and create volumes
out of the bricks carved from those additional hosts .

We do not recommend adding bricks to existing volumes in the HC
setup as it might lead to some issues.

Hope this helps !!!

Thanks
kasturi

[ovirt-users] Ovirt with Hosted Engine and 4 Hosts

2017-12-19 Thread Gabriel Stein
Hi all,

I know, that oVirt with Hosted Engine requires a replica 3 glusterfs
volume, but I'm using 4 nodes and I would like to know if is possible to
add it to the glusterfs engine volume.

Or should I always use 3, 5 and 7 hosts with hosted-engine?

What I'm doing:

gluster volume add-brick engine server1:/gluster/engine/brick1
server2:/gluster/engine/brick1 server3:/gluster/engine/brick1
server4:/gluster/engine/brick1

Error:
volume add-brick: failed: Incorrect number of bricks supplied 4 with count 3

If I'm using replica 3 will not be possible, but how can I upgrade it?
Adding 2 more nodes and upgrade to replica 5?

Thanks in Advance!

Best Regards

Gabriel Stein
