Thanks Ravi!

So this should have presented a helpful message to the user. Can you open a
BZ and improve that error message?

Update your /etc/hosts file on the server and the clients

Try the following
1. systemctl stop ovirt-engine

2. set hostname to rh71.domain.com

3. update /etc/hosts to add
 rh71.domain.com

4. Run engine-rename to change name to the new hostname

/usr/share/ovirt-engine/setup/bin/ovirt-engine-rename

5. systemctl start ovirt-engine

Now you can try accessing engine from web browser at rh71.domain.com

[ovirt-users] Re: Tuning and testing GlusterFS performance

2018-08-06 Thread Jayme
Just wanted to comment on this again. Today I rebuilt my oVirt environment
as I wanted to change disk/volume layout one final time before making use
of the cluster. I downloaded the most recent oVirt node image linked off
the ovirt site and used cockpit to deploy. Again, the gluster config
defaults were not set to optimize for virt. My gluster performance was as
bad as the first time around 5Mb/sec on DD tests. After optimizing volumes
for virt store it increased by 10x. If these settings are suppose to be
applied by default it does not appear to be working as intended..

Are you able to login from the browser on same host you are running engine?

Please check if the FQDN os the engine host is resolvable on the engine
host and from the host you are trying to access the Web Admin

Also do you have any other setup on Apache that is interfering with Apache
redirecting the request to engine SSO?

[ovirt-users] Re: MoM - Not working ? How to use it ?

2018-08-06 Thread Andrej Krejcir
Hi,

Initially, when the VM is started, it consumes only 200 MB, because the
QEMU process
allocates memory from the OS only when accessed by the VM. Once the VM uses
26 GB,
QEMU process will also use at least 26 GB.

The ballooning starts shrinking the VM, only if the free memory on the host
is below
a threshold, by default 20%. And it will grow the VM back if the free
memory is above
the threshold. So once it stabilizes, the host will be using around 80% of
memory.

If the host has 30 GB of memory, 80% is 24 GB, so the ballooning seems to be
working correctly.

Regards,
Andrej

Thanks. This is a bug, so adding devel.

So that console being empty + an empty ui.log means it's not a gwt problem.

Are you logging in with the default admin user?
Does it happen with English selected as the locale?
Does it happen when you connect via a browser on the same machine?
Can you try adding entries to /etc/hosts and connect via a hostname instead
of IP?

Adding @Ravi Nori in case this is some known issue with
connecting via IP.

There appears to be a problem to do with authentication through the

From which version do you upgrade. 4.2.4 works fine for me.

In the past i had a similar issue while upgrade from x.x.x to 4.2.3 with double
network and disks.
I run RUN->ONCE OK (Error message ignore) OK, then run normal with RUN that
fixes the issue.
