I checked and the rule is only for \d+\@qq\.com and was not applied to
oVirt but another community. So we have no special rules on oVirt side
concerning this domain.

Do you have examples of real people using such an address with just a
number before "@"?

As for the post from Dan, I understand the mail was "stalled on qq.com"
which means the problem is not on our side. Anyway, if a legitimate mail
is rejected we can investigate; we would need more info to be able to
find it in the logs and which rule triggered it though.

[ovirt-users] upgrading 4.0.1 to latest 4.2

2018-08-14 Thread Charles Kozler
Hello -

I am kicking around different ideas of how I could achieve this

I have been bitten, hard, with in place upgrades before so I am not really
wanting to do this unless its a complete last resort...and even then I'm
iffy

Really, the only configuration I have is 1 VDSM hook and about 20 networks.
The physical hardware is not going anywhere. Out of my three nodes, I can
push all VM's to the other 2 nodes and do a fresh build on 1 node

I am hoping there may be a way for me to do a fresh install of 4.2, export
engine config from 4.0.1, and then import it in some way - is this
possible? Quick google doesnt yield much and searches for 'export' usually
result in storage related results

[ovirt-users] Clarifications regarding ovirt-provider-ovn network

2018-08-14 Thread Anurag Porripireddi
Hi,

I had some questions a overt-provider-ovn based external network which is built
on top of an physical network. I notice that VLAN tagging gets greyed out when
I try to create an external provider network. Is it not supported by overt
right now?I am on version 4.2.5.3. Also, if I create NICs with the external
provider network built atop a physical network on VMs that are on different
hosts, but the same cluster, I see they are unable to ping each other, though
it seems to work fine if they are on the same host. Is that elected behaviour?
Could you you please help me understand why?

Thanks,
Anurag

Hi Ondra, thanks for your reply.

The use case may be a little complicated and related to Terraform.

In general, I want to use KV pairs to mark the Template name and
TemplateDisk ID which a VM Disk is created from. The reason is that when
creating a VM from a Template, we have to specify the Template name and
TemplateDisk ID for each newly generated Disk. However we could NOT get
back the Template/TemplateDisk details in Disk from oVirt engine, which may
cause Terraform believes the configurations has changed when applying
`terraform apply`.

there is no such solution.

May I ask what is the use case for this. Why it would be useful, if it
doesn't have any backend mapping, so no real function?

I'm looking into it. This does not fare well, so please be patient.

First, the antispam system is working well, but the results are
sometimes far from perfect. For example:

https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/thread/HN35B675ZXZEHDJVXWMXIOGV6PQDTGO7/
results in:
Aug 11 08:36:04 mail spamd[6241]: spamd: clean message (2.9/5.0) for
spamassassin:995 in 1.2 seconds, 10363 bytes.
Aug 11 08:36:04 mail spamd[6241]: spamd: result: . 2 -

scantime=1.2,size=10363,user=spamassassin,uid=995,required_score=5.0,rhost=localhost,raddr=::1,rport=33084,mid=,autolearn=no
autolearn_force=no

This is a pretty low score but because it pretty well redacted compared
to common spam, it went through. I'm not sure how to address this
problem because lowering the score too much is just gonna create false
positives and be even more annoying.

I've also seen a few @qq.com mails subscribed and AFAIK only spam comes
from this domain and it was already banned (at least \d...@qq.com
addresses) but I guess they learned how to subscribe before the ban.
This can easily be fixed though.

[ovirt-users] Network requirements for ovirtmgmt

2018-08-14 Thread Marcel Hanke
Hi,
we currently have a big layer 2 network in our datacenters, so every node in a
cluster can reach the other nodes in the datacenter on network layer 2.
In the future we'd like to route directly on the switches and connect the
nodes in one cluster, as well es other clusters in one datacenter via network
layer 3.
The question now is, do we need multicast and/or broadcast for any operation,
or is the connectivity with layer 3 fine?

Thanks
Marcel

I do not think this is tested regularly, but I guess it should be ok.

Can you please check/share full setup log? engine-setup should output the
full path, it should be in /var/log/ovirt-engine/setup . Thanks.

2018-08-14 Thread Maton, Brett
Just tried to update my test cluster to 4.2.6.2 :

[ INFO ] Stage: Misc configuration
[ INFO ] Running vacuum full on the engine schema
[ INFO ] Running vacuum full elapsed 0:00:04.523561
[ INFO ] Upgrading CA
[ INFO ] Backing up database localhost:ovirt_engine_history to
'/var/lib/ovirt-engine-dwh/backups/dwh-20180814071815.xVSlda.dump'.
[ INFO ] Creating/refreshing DWH database schema
[ INFO ] Configuring Image I/O Proxy
[ INFO ] Configuring WebSocket Proxy
[ INFO ] Backing up database localhost:engine to
'/var/lib/ovirt-engine/backups/engine-20180814071825.af3Hq2.dump'.
[ INFO ] Creating/refreshing Engine database schema
[ ERROR ] schema.sh: FATAL: Cannot execute sql command:
--file=/usr/share/ovirt-engine/dbscripts/upgrade/04_02_1220_default_all_search_engine_string_fields_to_not_null.sql

May or may not be relevant in this case but /tmp and /var/tmp are mounted
noexec.
Any more logs you need let me know.
