[ovirt-users] Re: Windows vm and cpu type
For my cluster, I changed the bios settings to enable the AES instruction on each node, one at a time, after migrating VMs to other nodes and back when done, then I was able to upgrade the cluster CPU type to the appropriate westmere when they were all updated. I'm not sure if something else might need enabled for libvirt and newer CPUs. As a side note, I did have problems installing Server2016 on a real nehalem CPU VM, where it would become unresponsive, so the test for newer Nehalem is there for good reason. The lack of AES instruction test is what's used to give nehalem for the cpu type. most of my cpu are Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 v3 @ 3.50GHz so yes it is newer..Not sure how to resolve this. I've been seeing these warnings myself, on 1Gb ovirtmanagement (glusterFS is 10Gbe backend). I haven't correlated to network graphs yet but I don't know what would be happening on my management network that would be exhausting 1Gb network. For example: Aug 31, 2018, 7:54:05 AM Host xxx has network interface which exceeded the defined threshold [95%] (enp9s0.80: transmit rate[100%], receive rate [12%]) This is a 10 Gbit interface and on our monitoring software, which is getting network statistics every 10s, the bandwidth of TX was 150 Mbit maximum at this time, so far away from being 100%. Could it be, that the engine detected the wrong interface speed or there is a calculation error? In the engine for this host, I have 1 Mbps for all interfaces.
