[ovirt-users] Re: Affinity rules in ovirt

2018-10-15 Thread Hari Prasanth Loganathan
Hi Team,

Affinity rule is not working as expected, I created a affinity group and
added two VMs and one host (say TestHost2) (NOTE : two hosts available)
with following configuration

   "enforcing": "true",
"hosts_rule": {
"enabled": "true",
"enforcing": "true",
"positive": "false"
},
"positive": "true",
"vms_rule": {
"enabled": "true",
"enforcing": "true",
"positive": "true"
},

But both the VMs are coming up in TestHost1, Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Hari

2018-10-15 Thread Staniforth, Paul
Hello,
I have found that migration doesn't work when using vms_rule
Enforcing Hard.
Scenario vms in an affinity group with Enforcing Hard no host members when
trying to migrate vms it comes back with no host to migrate to even when
selecting all vms in the affinity group.

  Paul S.

Hi,

> 3) What is the difference between VM to VM affinity and VM to Host affinity?

- VM - VM rule expresses the relationship of all running VMs from the
specified list to each other.
- VM - Host rule describes the relationship of all running VMs from
the list to the selected hosts

> Say I have 2 hosts, so what happens in case of failure of host running the
> VMs?

VMs that are not up are not considered by scheduler. So it will
(assuming those are highly available VMs) start the first VM somewhere
and then the second VM will be started at the same host where the
first one is running.

Correct.

It will try that too, but rather less aggressively.

[ovirt-users] How do you install oVirt Hyperconverged with six or nine nodes instead of the default three nodes?

2018-10-15 Thread Ravi Chalasani
Already have working three node 4.2.5 HA cluster in the lab using this guide:
https://ovirt.org/blog/2017/04/up-and-running-with-ovirt-4.1-and-gluster-storage/.

Now I would like to test a six or nine node cluster mentioned in the RHHI 1.1
guide. Is there some doc I am missing?

Thanks

Sandro, Simone, since he is now working on other things, do you guys
know anything about plans for updating the repo?

No. Martin?

[ovirt-users] JIra upgraded, all other Atlassian apps now broken

2018-10-15 Thread Soujanya Bargavi
I got a notice that our Atlassian Jira 7.1 introduce was EOL, and I should
refresh. I read the particular refresh rules, (for example, making a
reinforcement of the database). In any case, the procedure was a total fiasco
which required two server reboots to get it settled - the overhaul notes
neglected to say that the Postgres database ought to be refreshed past 9.1,
while Debian 8 stays on 9.1.

I think I recuperated the framework. Jira discovers its introduce dir once
more, it discovers its home catalog once more, it discovers its database once
more (counting our issues and essentially, our usernames and passwords).
Regardless I have to physically begin it, as the init content doesn't work. In
any case, I don't surmise that is the issue.

Presently while we can sign in to Jira once more, there's a little issue. We
had connected FishEye, Crucible, Bamboo and Confluence to Jira. In Jira I can
see that I am as yet an individual from bamboo-administrator and intersection
heads. With the goal that bit looks half OK, FishEye/Crucible is absent.

Be that as it may, the "Application Links" for all connected applications are
broken, and I can't sign in to any of those. There appear to be 2 related
issues:

On account of FishEye/Crubile, there are 5 clients characterized, out of the 10
we have in Jira. Those simply happen to be non-administrator accounts. Most are
from representatives that left, and those records are obviously crippled in
Jira. Subsequently, I can't sign in any longer. Also, I can't include myself
(Starter Edition restrain).

On account of Bamboo and Crucible, I can't sign in either. The Starter Edition
restrict is the 10 clients, same as Jira https://goo.gl/bwWJRi, so this can't
be indistinguishable issue from FishEye/Crucible. Bu I can't see which clients
are known to Bamboo promotion Crucible without signing in.

Bamboo shows that are robotized fabricates are as yet running, so it too
approaches its database. A snappy psql to be sure demonstrates all databases to
be available. Also, Bamboo's USERS table contains ONLY bamboo-administrator,
while Jira demonstrates me as an individual from bamboo-administrator.

My doubt, yet that is just a hunch, is this is identified with some "OAuth"
setting for application connecting. There is an "Investigate" interface on the
connected application page, however it just gives "OAuth investigating guide -
Page Not Found"

I do have root access to the Linux have, so I can settle things from the order
line. What do I have to do to re-empower logins to the connected applications
given that I can't login to them specifically?

Yes you are right, the engine checks one by one. We do not support
group migration in the scheduler. It was never considered important
enough to offset the development costs (the internal architecture
would have to change significantly). The workaround is to relax the
affinity rule a bit first, do the migration and restore the affinity
rule.

[ovirt-users] Monkey script for copying VM/Host IP address

2018-10-15 Thread rhrazdil
Hello guys,

I created a simple [Grease, Tamper, Violent, ...]Monkey script that copies IP
address from clicked element on a page [0].

I believe it may be useful for anyone who often needs to copy IP addresses of
Hosts/VMs from Ovirt and SSH to them. To use it, just copy-paste
the script to your favourite *Monkey extension or create a new script and use:
// @require
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rhrazdil/MonkeyScripts/master/cfme.js
to get any future updates.

At this point, it doesn't do more than just copying an IPv4 address, but if you
have some more ideas, don't hesitate to let me know :).

[0] https://github.com/rhrazdil/MonkeyScripts/blob/master/ipcopy.js

Have a great day,
Radim.

Thank you, we will wait for the release of version 4.2.7.
And special thanks for the workaround.

[ovirt-users] Re: Affinity rules in ovirt

2018-10-15 Thread Martin Sivak

Correct.

It will try that too, but rather less aggressively.

patch for oVirt 4.2 for ovirt-container-engine is in gerrit [1]. It works with
published rmohr/ovirt-postgres (postgres 9.2), but as recommended DB for oVirt
4.2 is postgres 9.5, you may download patch for 9.5 [2] and build it locally
(from previous answers it looks like project is not maintained, so review may
take some time:-)
Let ma know if you spot any issues.
