[ovirt-users] web admin: snapshots UI
Hi all, I'd like to ask/suggest something: In the previous UI (4.2?), when you entered the VM snapshots page, you saw per each snapshot some details that you do not see in the current UI. Specifically, to see the creation date, you have to press General. So I got used to writing longer descriptions, with the creation date in them, but that also does not work well, because in the main view only the start of the description is shown. At least for me (combination of browser, OS, etc.), there is a lot of white unused space between the end of the presented-part of the description, and the "> General" after it. Can we somehow use this space to either add the creation date, or more/all of the description, or even make this customizable? And perhaps make this a sortable table (so that you can sort by description, or if you added Data, you can sort by that, or memory, or whatever)? I don't mind opening a bug/RFE for this, if more people agree that it's useful, and unless there are some (unknown to me) reasons against that (other than the time needed for implementing this, which I expect is quite minimal for the simplest option of just showing more of the description). Hi Kim, If you add them to a group in AD then add the users and group to oVirt you can add the permissions to the group. Then add the VmCreator and DiskProfileUser to the Datacenter. Add the UserTemplateBasedVM permission to any templates you want them to be able to use Add the VnicProfileUser permission to any vNIC profiles they should have access ( make sure public isn't enabled on any vNIC profiles you don't want them to have access to) When they create a VM they will then get UserVmManager permission and the DiskOperator permissions on any disks. This means they should be able to do all 1 to 8 for their own VMs and also delete their VMs and Disks. Hm... It seems that I missed the complain about libibverbs.so.1 which is part of package libibverbs-22.1-3.el7.x86_64 . Once I have deployed that, no more issues are observed. Hello, pay attention that GFS2 requires clustering software, and i don't know if this may conflict with VDSM or other oVirt components. If possible prefer standard setup using external iscsi/fc/nfs storage if you don't want glusterfs. [ovirt-users] no hosted engine deploy while adding new host (oVirt 4.3.5)
I tryed to add a new host to my oVirt environment. I remember a checkbox whether the engine HA wil depoyed or not in oVirt 4.1. Now the environmentist oVirt 4.3.5. In the add host dialog windows I cant find that option anymore. In edit window after host installation ther ist also no hosted engine tab. hosted-engine --deploy don't ask, if it is an additional host (like it used to in 4.1), so it will install a new engine instead of depoying the existing engine.
