last dec i installed hosted-engine seems to be working, we can migrate the
engine to different host. but we need to reinstall everything because of
gluster additional configuration.
so we did installed hosted-engine. but as per checking. we cannot migrate the
engine to other hosts. and the
Thanks for replies.

What it worked for me was:
1) Start a VM via "virsh"
define a virsh alias:
alias virsh='virsh -c
I found this document which was useful to explain some details on how to debug
But still stuck with engine not starting.

So only two things that jump out are just
1) ovirt-ha-agent not starting... back to python sillyness that I have no idea
[root@medusa ~]# systemctl status ovirt-ha-agent.service
● ovirt-ha-agent.service - oVirt Hosted Engine High Availability Monitoring
Maybe this is the rathole cause?
[root@medusa system]# systemctl status vdsmd.service
● vdsmd.service - Virtual Desktop Server Manager

After installing fresh CentOS stream (on HP ProLiant Node) with recommended
partitioning scheme I did in oVirt Engine Web UI Hosts -> New (add node ended
with success), the Hosts -> Installation -> Install, and this failed.

Thanks for reply.. seems guestfish is a tool I need to do some RTFM on.
This would I think allow me to read in disk from then "engine" storage. and
manipulate files within it.
But is their a way to just start the VMs?
I guess I jumped from "old school virsh" to relying upon oVirt GUI... and
re: starting vms without ovirt, you can get access to vms locally using
guestfish, i've used that before to fix vms after server room aircon
(it's not really a way to run the vms, but more for access when you can
run the vm)
should be able to

What steps did you take to deploy post CentOS 8 Streams deployment? Did you
launch from Cockpit UI?
The GUI deployment process does output reasonable logs

Updated to CentOS 8 Streams :P ->
After several weeks .. I am really in need of direction to get this fixed.
I saw several postings about oVirt package issues but not found a fix.
You are right, I have resolved it.

It looks you are missing some
Sadly that did not fix the issue either. I found an old thread and was able to
fix the issue by following the advice:
Thanks for your help everyone.
It looks you are missing some permissions (roles)? Are you trying to login
to the administration panel(that's my guess) or to VM portal?
Anyway, to resolve this issue assign relevant roles to that newly created
user using your admin account.
