In my opinion,
reinstalling the engine will never give an insight how the situation went so
bad.
Currently, at least the HE can live migrate between host1 & host3 and most
probably will power up properly in case of serious problems.
Yet, it's quite strange why the setup of host2 failsand on top
Hi Don,
Python SDK is backward compatible, so if you upgrade it to 4.4, you can use
it for older oVirt engines from 4.0.

Hi Didi,

I created it manually.
So, last night, I removed ovirtmgmt I have created manually, and set up eth0
with Type Ethernet and ip address.

That was my problem. While the engine and my host had the correct version
of sdk4, the server that I run my automation scripts from had a too old
version.
Thanks

Hello,
You can do 'virsh pool-create' on the same directory as your currently
running Xen VMs' disks.
That will make the disks visible to libvirt (prerequisite for them to be
exportable to oVirt).
If libvirt doesn't see your stopped VMs when doing 'virsh list --all' you
need to add the
Hi Yedidyah,
Thank you for such honest answer.
Debugging gives me better insight into how platform operates, and the
documentation rarely dives this deep. I did learn a lot but my intent was not
to debug on my own.
I sure did re-install OS of Host2 and not only once (thanks to Foreman) it’s

This *should* be ok, but:
1. Better verify (e.g. "hosted-engine --console" doing this and see
that it all looks ok)
2. I'd personally still prefer to ssh to the

Unless you do something with the storage before it's completely down.
Then the engine's kernel might fail to sync.

During migration between Host1 and Host3, links are being created and I see no
Errors as before in the agent/broker logs.
Having all links in place, and having waited 24hours, for potential Engine
updates, I tried to deploy HE on Host2:

OK.
I have no idea why the engine's disk is corrupted.
One way

more than a question to the users community this sounds like feedback on

Hi,
We have generate a Script with the following prozedere:
https://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2017-August/083665.html
Hosted-storage will be not touched.

Hi,
unfortunately we have an issue around generating Python SDK documentation,
so reboot parameter is not mentioned there yet:
http://ovirt.github.io/ovirt-engine-sdk/4.4/services.m.html#ovirtsdk4.services.HostsService.add
Below code snippet looks good, but please make sure that you are using
