Which one, and how?

You should import the CA Cert, and trust it for web sites.

2022-05-09 Thread Strahil Nikolov via Users
According to vdsm, there are some failed multipath paths -> you will need to
clear them (pure LinuxSystem Administration) as they might cause the real
symptom.
According to the log there are read errors. You have to figure out why vdsm
fails to read the LUN.Can you try to 'dd if=/dev/mapper/multipath-wwid
of=/dev/null bs=10M count=200' and see if it errors out.

Spoke too soon, the above + it seems occasionally the gluster on 2 nodes

2022-05-09 Thread Abe E
So I used my most recent backup I could make work (March but better than
nothing).
Got all the glusters going and the hosts, my only issue currently is the data
domain was imported with the restore deployment despite this it shows offline
and inactive.

Storage ID in GUI shows as e9c41992-2130-4ce8-96fa-39be109c2b96, likewise same
DIR name in gluster_bricks in CLI, but it shows N/A for size. It also says
failed :

Storage Domain data (Data Center LabNetDev) was deactivated by system because
it's not visible by any of the hosts.
Failed to activate Storage Domain data (Data Center

In the actual mount though, the directory is empty.

So if i cat /rhev/data-center/mnt/glusterSD/gluster-1.removed.com:_data it is
empty. Do you know why this would be?

[ovirt-users] Upload Cerfiticate issue

2022-05-09 Thread louisb
I’m trying to upload an ISO image in ovirt 4.4.10, It’s been a huge challenge
to accomplish this. I read several post regarding this issue, I really don’t
have s clear understanding of solution to this issue. My experience has not
been very fruitful at all.

When I try to perform the upload using the web GUI I get the following message
in the status column: “Paused by System“. I’ve been reading for roughly three
weeks trying to understand and resolve the issue. There is a tremendous amount
of discussion centered around changing certificate file located in the
directory “etcpki/ovirt-engine”, however it not clear at all what files need to
change.

My installation is an out-of-box installation with any certificates beginning
generated as part of the install process, I’ve imported the certificate that
was generated into my browser/Firefox 91.9.0. Based on what I’ve been reading
the solution to my problems is that the certificate does not match the
certificate defined in the “imageio-service”, my question is why because it was
generated as part of the installation?

What files in the “/etc/pki/ovirt-engine” must be changed to get things
working. Further should or do I copy the certificate saved from the GUI to
files under “/etc/pki/ovirt-engine” directory?

I feel like I’m so close after six month of reading and re-installs, what do I
do next?

Thanks

There might be something wrong with the install I had... I reinstall everything
from scratch and downgraded the postgresql-jdbc package and it works.

Here is what I did:

dnf install postgresql-jdbc-42.2.3
dnf info postgresql-jdbc

[ovirt-users] Re: OVA Export from Snapshot?

2022-05-09 Thread Alan G
Ah, I didn't appreciate that.

My main concern with running the OVA export was getting a consistent image. The
machine I am exporting has a large disk which will take some time to export and
I didn't want to have to shut the machine down for the duration of export
operation.

I see now, when I trigger an export that a snapshot is created. Thanks.

The fact you're asking specifically about the image makes me wonder
what's the reason for asking that
If you look for a way to create an OVA directly from an existing
snapshot then no, it's not possible. You'd need to provision a
VM/template from the snapshot and export it to an OVA.
If you don't want the export operation to operate on the active
volume(s) of the VM then unless the VM is configured with MBS (managed
block storage) disk, the system creates a snapshot first and exports
the volumes that are associate with the snapshot to the OVA (so it
doesn't use the active volumes)

2022-05-09 Thread Abe E
If anyone has this issue, just comment out the nodes from your engines
/etc/hosts file -- Once it catches it is offline or nonresponsive you can put
it in maintenance, uncomment it and then you can enroll certificates and/or
reinstall without need to reboot after and once done activate.

Seems like a bug, caused by me. Sorry. Can you please try this patch
and see if it helps? Thanks.

Actually I think this could be a bug in enrolling certificate job on hosts
 from web admin gui.
I'm having the same problem updating from downstream RHV 4.4.10-6 to
4.4.10-7 with RHV-H hosts and the enrolling of certificates takes in
 consideration these directories

Seems like this is indeed the issue. Should already be fixed in 4.5.

The bug is on RHV, not oVirt, so is still in VERIFIED - will be closed
once RHV has it. For oVirt, AFAICT, it's already fixed.

If you still run into this issue with current 4.5, please attach
relevant logs to this bug (or create a new one, if you suspect it's
unrelated). Thanks.

[ovirt-users] Re: Getting error on oVirt installation

2022-05-09 Thread Kevin Cahill
I am also struggling with this as I try to install a self-hosted engine. I
have read every thread in the forum and tried all the suggestions.

Here is my most recent attempt (RHEL 8.5, installing oVirt 4.4):
Start the hosted engine deployment, then run the command [ # dnf downgrade
postgresql-jdbc ] from a virsh console, to downgrade postgresql as soon as the
packages are done updating. The downgrade appears to be successful, however
the system still fails at 'Check if engine health page is up'. Restarting the
oVirt engine [ # systemctl restart oVirt-engine ] immediately after downgrading
postgresql does not make any difference. The system times out at the 'Check if
engine health page is up'. The log entry where the latest failure started to
occur is below. I can include the entire log if needed. Interestingly, the
status was 503 this time. In many prior attempts that status was 500.

2022-05-06 09:42:49,744-0400 ERROR
otopi.ovirt_hosted_engine_setup.ansible_utils ansible_utils._process_output:110
fatal: [localhost -> 192.168.222.150]: FAILED! => {"attempts": 30, "changed":
false, "connection": "close", "content": "\n\n503 Service

capacity\nproblems. Please try again later.\n\n",

http://localhost/ovirt-engine/services/health}

I would like to know if anyone has had success doing a fresh install of a
self-hosted environment since the postgresql issue arose. If so, any pointers
would be greatly appreciated. If I get this working I will follow up with
exactly what I did.
