[ovirt-users] Re: Unable to install Hosted engine.

2022-05-12 Thread Strahil Nikolov via Users
I think that a new attempt should be done as a lot of async updates were pushed
and they fix a lot of problems.

If you logon to the host where the hosted engine is running and type in
"virsh list" (if prompted for a userid and password use vdsm@ovirt
password shibboleth) the hostedengine VM should have a number (like 1,2
3 etc). Using this number, type "virsh console n" where "n" is that VM
number and again use the same userid and password credentials if
prompted. This should drop you into a console session on the
hostedengine VM. from there, login as root. If you can't access the
engine via a web browser double check that the postgresql-jdbc was
indedd downgraded and you are not hitting the "500 error". If all else
fails, a fix is due out as per Michael Skrivanek's post yesterday:

"It's worth mentioning that 4.5.0.8 should follow shortly and should fix
the compatibility with new postgresql-jdbc so that people don't have to
downgrade"

[ovirt-users] list-view instead of tiled-view in oVirt VM Portal?

2022-05-12 Thread Goorkate, B.J.
Hi all,

Is it possible to have a list of vm's in the oVirt VM-portal instead of the
tiled view?
(can't find it, but may have overlooked)

Thanks!

Regards,

Bertjan

you can:

rpm -e --justdb centos-stream-release
dnf update redhat-release -y
rpm -i --justdb --nodeps --force "
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/8-stream/BaseOS/$(rpm --eval
'%_arch')/os/Packages/centos-stream-release-8.6-1.el8.noarch.rpm"

Alma, Rocky and others are providing centos-release in their own release
rpm so this step is not needed there.

[ovirt-users] Problem patching & upgrading a RHEL oVirt host

2022-05-12 Thread David White via Users
Hello,I followed some instructions I found in
https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/upgrade_guide/ and
https://www.ovirt.org/download/install_on_rhel.html by doing the following:
  883  subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-8-for-x86_64-baseos-rpms  884
subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms  885
subscription-manager repos --enable codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
886  rpm -i --justdb --nodeps --force
"http://mirror.centos.org/centos/8-stream/BaseOS/$(rpm --eval
'%_arch')/os/Packages/centos-stream-release-8.6-1.el8.noarch.rpm"  887  cat
>/etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Stream-Extras.repo <<'EOF'  888  [cs8-extras]  889
name=CentOS Stream $releasever - Extras  890

cat >/etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Stream-Extras-common.repo <<'EOF'  897

reboot  908  dnf install centos-release-ovirt45  909  dnf install
centos-release-ovirt45 --enablerepo=extras
But now, yum update isn't working because its trying to install
centos-stream-release 8.6.1 over redhat-release-8.6.
Surely I shouldn't install CentOS stream release over RHEL release, should I?

Fixed in ovirt 4.5.1, see:

As a workaround, you can apply this change locally:

 Assunto: [ovirt-users] Re: Host cannot connect to storage domains

 I think you're running into that bug, someone mentioned the following
 which seemed to work for my nodes that complained of not being able to
 connect to the storage pool.

 The following fix worked for me, i.e. replacing the following line in
 /usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/vdsm/gluster/cli.y

 Replace: value['stripeCount'] =el.find('stripeCount').text

 With: if (el.find('stripeCount')): value['stripeCount'] =
 el.find('stripeCount').text

 Restart VSMD and SuperVSMD and then your host should be able to connect if
 you have the same issue

You cannot use the WebUI to get a single host into maintenance mode.
What you can do is put the cluster in global maintenance mode, and shut
down the hosted-engine.

>From the host:
$ hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global
$ hosted-engine --vm-shutdown

When you are done:
$ hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=none
$ hosted-engine --vm-startup

[ovirt-users] How can I set the host to maintenance mode?

2022-05-12 Thread yp414
Set the maintenance mode on the host and add GPU on a single cluster host

Error performing operation: unable to switch the host to maintenance mode.

There is no host that can run the engine virtual machine.

How can I set the host to maintenance mode?

For those running RHEL 8.6 / Alma 8.6 / Rocky ... , rebuilding
postgresql-jdbc for Virt SIG:
https://cbs.centos.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2801764
Should land on mirrors later today.
