[ovirt-users] Is it possible to auto-start VMs on single LocalStorage host without the engine?
I currently use KVM/virsh for my DNS. I would like it to ovirt, but I need DNS started for the engine to work. So I need to start the DNS vm before the engine. Is that possible with ovirt? I was thinking I could use the same mechanism as hosted engine, as that would autostart. In my current KVM setup I needed only to symlink /etc/libvirtd/qemu/dns.xml to /etc/libvirtd/qemu/autostart/ to get it to run. ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/JPREYFWDOYKCPIBL75QGSHCNNS333KMJ/

Hi, after a last yum update, udev assigned incorrect /dev/dm-* ownership for ovirt storage. The default storage is owned by "root.disk" instead of "vdsm.qemu". The vdsm udev cfg file is unchanged. Package udev.x86_64 0:147-2.73.el6 WORKS Package udev.x86_64 0:147-2.73.el6_8.1 DOESN'T Looks like a behavior change in udev - https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2016-1659.html This update fixes the following bug: * Previously, the udev daemon reset permissions on a device node on both "change" and "add" kernel sysfs events. After a "change" event was generated for an underlying block device, permissions on a virtual disk of a virtual machine (VM) were reset. Consequently, a qemu process accessing the virtual disk encountered a "Permission denied" error, which caused problems during live migrations of VMs. The udev service has been patched, and it now sets permissions on a device node only on "add" events or in cases when udev created a new device node. I have a 2 host cluster using iSCSI for storage, and when one of the hosts, either the SPM or normal, is forcibly turned off, although the engine sees the host as non-responsive, the VMs that were running on it remain on that crashed host, and a question mark (?) appears next to them. Other than checking "highly available", is there another step that needs to be made for a VM to be restarted on a working host should the host it is running on fail? [Users] Progress on image operations (dd & USR1 signal)
Hi, I am using ovirt 3.2 and noticed that during image operations (move, copy) the user has no progress report. This is painful, especially if the images are large or the storage is slow.
