[ovirt-users] hosted-engine restore bug?
Hello everyone, im running on ovirt 4.3.5 For some strange reason the httpd service couldn't start on my hosted engine so i could not access the Web interface.After various unsuccessful attempts to fix it, I decided to restore the hosted engine. Following the steps: 1.engine-cleanup 2.db had to delete it manually using rm -rf /var/lib/pgsql/data 3.engine-backup --mode=restore --file=backup_file --log=log_file_name --provision-db --no-restore-permissions 4.engine-setup On step 3 it keeps coming with error messages "FATAL: Can't connect to database 'ovirt_engine_history'. Please see '/usr/bin/engine-backup --help'. i need to get this hosted-engine up and running so please advice ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/S7AYLQFYRFVDNF7E34FUG6IVCYNATIFE/

[ovirt-users] External networks issue after upgrading to 4.3.6
After upgrading to the latest stable version the external networks lost all functionality. Under providers-->ovn-network-provider the test runs successfully. But when im creating an external provider network, attaching it to a router as a LAN setting up dhcp lease it is not reachable from other VMs in the same network. Hosts and hosted engine can't seem to ping it either. I tried disabling firewalls on both hosted engines, VMs and host and still nothing. When configuring Logical networks or VLANs they work perfectly tje one problem is the external networks. I have another environment running on a previous version of ovirt and it works perfectly there. I think its a bug. Is there any other method to use the network name instead of id? if not its fine, i ll use the list networks first and then match the ids with the names and delete accordingly On Tue, Jan 29, 2019 at 12:46 PM Dominik Holler wrote: > On Tue, 29 Jan 2019 12:23:32 +0200 > ada per wrote: > > > Hello again, > > > > And how about to delete a logical network? > > as remove option is not available in: > > system_service().networks_service() > > > > network_service = networks_service.network_service(network.id) > network_service.remove() > > > On Mon, Jan 28, 2019 at 7:01 PM Dominik Holler > > wrote: > > > > > On Mon, 28 Jan 2019 16:34:30 - > > > "ada per" wrote: > > > > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I have the following script, > > > > i ve been looking in ovirt-sdk but i cannot seem to find the > > > > proper way of adding an external provider network under ovirt-ovn > > > > I manage to add logical networks and vlans but no luck in > > > > external provider. > > > > > > > > Any advice is appreciated > > > > > > > > network = networks_service.add( > > > > network=types.Network( > > > > name='ext_net', > > > > description='Testing network', > > > > data_center=types.DataCenter( > > > > name='Default' > > > > ), > > > > usages=[types.NetworkUsage.VM], > > > > external_provider='ovirt-provider-ovn', -->i know > > > > this part is wrong what is it supposed to be called? ), > > > > > > external_provider=types.OpenStackNetworkProvider( > > > id=provider.id > > > ) > > > > > > please find a full example script in > > > https://gist.github.com/dominikholler/be7286931c0ea26b14965a5f91783cd4 > > > > > > > ___ > > > > Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org > > > > To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org > > > > Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ > > > > oVirt Code of Conduct: > > > > https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List > > > > Archives: > > > > > > > > https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/LGGF7HZTMWDMCLNUATLHIXRYP7666TE4/ > > > > > > > > ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/HFJATOOB6JEHFVARTTK6LTWUKNVDFKCW/
[ovirt-users] Re: ovirt-sdk_external network add
Just something i noticed with the removal of external logical networks script: > > network_service = networks_service.network_service(network.id) > > network_service.remove() it only removes the network from the network list , it does not remove it from the external provider. And for that reason when im trying to recreate an external network with the *same name* as the previously removed one it comes up with error: ovirtsdk4.Error: Fault reason is "Operation Failed". Fault detail is "[Failed to communicate with the external provider, see log for additional details.]". HTTP response code is 400 Is it a bug? How can it be resolved? [ovirt-users] upgrade bug
After upgrading my hosts from 4.2.7.1 to 4.2.8 the external networks stopped working! When im starting a VM using external network it does not boot up at all! The error message is: "VM is down with error. Exit message: unsupported configuration: filterref is not supported for network interfaces with virtualport type openvswitch" I rolled it back to 4.2.7.1 for 1 of my hosts just as a test and the VMs on that host can now bootup using external networks as they are supposed to!! [ovirt-users] Wrong engine version grts installed
Hello, Both node version 4.5.3 and 4.5.2 ate installing the master version. The version of the engine that gets installed is 4.5.4-0.2.master.20221025103923.git936a8fcd09.el8 I do not understand why master version was installed, as I wanted the stable version. ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/D3YMM2L2AQQU3UHXWAP4I7LN7RBHEHJ7/
[ovirt-users] Re: Wrong engine version grts installed
Thank you for your reply, Indeed I 1. Installed ovirt-node on some host 2. Ran there 'hosted-engine --deploy' 3. Got an engine VM that includes the master engine Regarding your questions *Did you install/upgrade any package manually, prior to deploying?ovirt-engine-appliance? Anything else?* I did not upgrade any packages prior to deploying What i did is: I installed ovirt node host 4.5.3.1 without adding any packages manually- it deployed master version# i removed it and on a different host I installed ovirt node host 4.5.3 without adding any packages manually- it deployed master version# i then removed it and install node 4.5.2 without adding any packages manually- it deployed master version i removed it and reinstall 4.5.2 and install engine packages manually and still master version was deployed even though when running engine appliance install it says ovirt-engine-appliance-4.5-20221018071047.1.el8.x86_64 *the results of the commands are as below:* *rpm -qa | grep release* centos-release-nfv-common-1-3.el8.noarch centos-release-gluster10-1.0-1.el8s.noarch centos-release-virt-common-1-2.el8.noarch centos-release-ovirt45-8.7-2.el8s.noarch centos-stream-release-8.6-1.el8.noarch centos-release-storage-common-2-2.el8.noarch centos-release-opstools-1-12.el8.noarch ovirt-release-host-node-4.5.2-1.el8.x86_64 centos-release-ceph-pacific-1.0-2.el8.noarch centos-release-nfv-openvswitch-1-3.el8.noarch *dnf repoquery -i ovirt-engine-appliance* Last metadata expiration check: 0:28:15 ago on Wed 26 Oct 2022 10:22:40 EEST.
