Nicolas,

thank you very much for the very swift reply.
I was able to remove the locked vm's with that command.

[ovirt-users] unlock_entity.sh

2017-10-24 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

first of all, I hope this question is not too trivial or hasn't been asked
lately
( but i scrolled down the mailing list and didn't find anything similar,
so...)

I have a lot of trouble with locked disks when trying to remove vm's.
I know there's the unlock_entity script but cannot get it to work.

Where can I find a copy-paste-able uuid nr of the disk?
It prompts me for a database password. Is this something I should have
created when setting up Ovirt?
Can anyone give me an example of a complete unlock entity command?

Many thanks for any help.

greetings, J.

thank you very much for the quick reply.

I created a new storage domain, now everything works.

[ovirt-users] Hosted-engine: the day after

2016-09-26 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

I have successfully ( I think ) deployed a hosted engine.
But I'm unsure what to do next.
The first thing I see is an EM:
The Hosted Engine Storage Domain doesn't exist. It should be imported into
the setup.
The quick start guide tells me to first go to the default data center,
that's unitialized.
The guide me button then tells me to attach nfs storage. During the setup I
attached nfs storage from a nas, that doesn't seem to work this time around.
At this stage I don't know in what log file to look for EM.
Thanks for any guidance.

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt All in one spice-sound

2016-05-11 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello David,

thank you very much for the reply.

Both host, client and the machine from wich I connect through Spice is
Centos7
In the guest machine, I see an audio card with lspci:

00:04.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family)
High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Subsystem: Red Hat, Inc QEMU Virtual Machine
Physical Slot: 4
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
Memory at fe02 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

What I did now ( I think ) is check "use guest agent" in admin console and
now it works.

Thanks again for the help.

greetings, J.

[ovirt-users] Ovirt All in one spice-sound

2016-05-10 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

I've set up an all in one install on Ovirt3.5

All though I've done it before, for the life of me
I can't get sound to work with Spice sessions.
I tried auto, native, browser plugin and html5.

Following this page:
http://www.ovirt.org/develop/infra/testing/spice/
I've installed xorg-x11-drv-qxl and installed and started spice-vdagent

in Edit virtual -machine-console, enable sound card is checked.

What else is needed to get this to work?

Many thanks for any advise

Re: [ovirt-users] DevConf.CZ 2016 - my experience

2016-02-26 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello,

"Would be cool to support ARM based hosts running virtual machines!"

I would also be very interested in that.
I recently visited the Centos Dojo in Brussels and also came away with the
idea that the ARM road is very long.

This seems like an opportunity to ask:
this is not possible on any board right now?

I was thinking:

Hello Ondra,

thanks for the reply. It's in both admin portal en user portal.
Indeed, it's the same issue as in the other mail.
Do running

[ovirt-users] not able to select profile in console after update

2016-01-18 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

I have installed an all-in-one server on a Centos7 machine, with one vm.
After updating to Centos7.2 ( Ovirt 3.6 ) I cannot login on
user portal of web portal because I cannot set the profile field.
So it complains the field cannot be left blanc.

This is a test setup so no biggie.

Thanks for any advise.

[ovirt-users] ovirt-hosted-engine-setup and single machine install

2015-11-23 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

after configuring a first setup, based on the quick start guide, I'm now
looking
at the hosted-engine setup.
My question is: after I do the hosted-engine-setup, how do I setup vm's on
the same
machine that hosts the now-virtualized engine?

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt and Shorewall

2015-11-02 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

thanks for the replies.

As far as I can tell with limited experience, Firewalld is supported on
both engine-setup and
when adding a Centos7 host.
I made a first attempt to translate the resulting Firewalld rules to a
Shorewalld setup, this failed.
I will look into this further.

[ovirt-users] Ovirt and Shorewall

2015-10-28 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

I'm still experimenting with Ovirt-setup.
Because Centos/Rhel7 now have Firewalld, and because I still have some
Centos6
machines with Iptables, I was kinda hoping to use Shorewall on both.

Is there any support/documentation for this in the Ovirt-world?

Many thanks, J.

[ovirt-users] Failed to connect Host test-host to the Storage Domains ISO_DOMAIN.

2015-10-20 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

following the Ovirt quick start guide, I
attached a host and configured nfs-storage.
Now when trying to connect the ( standard ) iso-domain I get an EM:

Failed to connect Host test-host to the Storage Domains ISO_DOMAIN.

Here's more output from /var/log/ovirt-engine/server.log:

Re: [ovirt-users] just joined the list

2015-10-20 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello,
I played around with setting in Virtualbox but
I did not succeed in attaching a Centos host that runs in Virtualbox.
EM in /var/log/ovirt-engine/host-deploy/*.log :

File
"/tmp/ovirt-Fm6ToenoKS/otopi-plugins/ovirt-host-deploy/vdsm/hardware.py",
line 68, in _validate_virtualization
_('Hardware does not support virtualization')

Could be because I have an older laptop.

Greetings, J.

[ovirt-users] just joined the list

2015-10-20 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello All,

I just joined the list and I can't wait to get " acquainted" with Ovirt
I have about 150 people for who I have to provide a workstation, Internet
access and accounts, and
solve all their problems. About 40 work on laptops, the others use
disk-less thin clients and ltsp.
I hope to replace the ltps-part with Ovirt and Spice.
The users are dispersed over some 15 locations.
The entire setup runs on Centos.
So far I've been looking at the Quick Start Guide, and got as far as
setting up nfs.

One thing would help a lot in this testing fase: I've set up the
Ovirt-engine in Virtualbox.
Is it also possible to configure and attach a ( Centos) host in Virtualbox?

Greetings, J.
