I updated my lab environment from oVirt 4.1.x to oVirt 4.2 Alpha

The hosted-engine command has been corrupted

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt automation through Ansible and cloud-init in oVirt 4.1.5 + Ansible 2.3.1

2017-09-15 Thread Julián Tete
You are absolutely right Ondra. Thank You

I have three questions for you:

1) How does this work ? Ansible creates the configuration disk?

2) How can I do to disable cloud-init after execution, maybe a script that
runs systemd disable cloud-init.service and systemd mask
cloud-init.service. There is little documentation about it

3) If you would like to turn off or on a huge set of virtual machines how
you can group them to do so. Without having to do a Task for each one

[ovirt-users] oVirt automation through Ansible and cloud-init in oVirt 4.1.5 + Ansible 2.3.1

2017-09-08 Thread Julián Tete
oVirt Version: 4.1.5

Ansible: 2.3.1

Hello Friends of oVirt

I want to automate the creation, provisioning and deployment of virtual
machines in oVirt, using Ansible.

I want to use a non-cloud image for the template. It has cloud-init
installed. And it looks for the IP http: //169.254.169 and the following
error message: "Calling 'http: //169.254.169 ."

It looks like oVirt uses a config drive with a user-data.txt file

This is my Ansible Playbook:

---
# Primer Play
- hosts: oVirtEnginePruebas
  remote_user: root
  tasks:
- name : Definiendo la conexion con el Engine de oVirt
  ovirt_auth:
  url: https://engine1.example.com/ovirt-engine/api
  username: admin@internal
  password: mysupersecretpassword
  ca_file: /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem

- name : Creando la maquina virtual requerida
  ovirt_vms:
  auth: "{{ ovirt_auth }}"
  state: present
  name: CentOS7CloudInit
  template: CloudInitTemplate
  cluster: Default

- name : Se establecen las propiedades de la maquina virtual y los
parametros de cloud-init
  ovirt_vms:
  auth: "{{ ovirt_auth }}"
  name: CentOS7CloudInit
  template: CloudInitTemplate
  cluster: Default
  memory: 5GiB
  cpu_cores: 8
  high_availability: true
  cloud_init:
host_name: cloudinit.example.com
nic_name: eth0
nic_boot_protocol: static
nic_ip_address: 192.168.0.238
nic_netmask: 255.255.255.0
nic_gateway: 192.168.0.1
dns_servers: 8.8.8.8
dns_search: example.com
nic_on_boot: true
user_name: root
root_password: mysupersecretpassword

- name : Desconectando con el Engine de oVirt revocando el token SSO
  ovirt_auth:
  state: absent
  ovirt_auth: "{{ ovirt_auth }}"
~

I just want to use Ansible for this, I do not want to use the oVirt
webinterface to run run once every time I want to provision a machine.

How can I do that ?

Thanks in advance

Mmmm Interesting

There is not something in general for the project like this in Trello ?:

https://trello.com/b/XBd0CmFk/rh-ovirt-4-0-ui-overhaul

and

https://trello.com/b/lqNXh8uI/ovirt-4-1-ovn

I found this article also:

[ovirt-users] Roadmap

2017-03-22 Thread Julián Tete
Hi Friends of oVirt

Is there any roadmap for oVirt for 2017 and 2018?

Any roadmap for oVirt by versions? 4.2.X, 4.3.X, 4.4.X

Thank you

I can't boot a CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1611.iso

I check the sha256sum and everything is OK

The Virtual Machine Stuck in:

"EXT4-fs (dm-0): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)"

or

"systemd-journal[88]: Received SIGTERM from PID 1 (systemd).
type=1403 audit(1487936348.599:2): policy loaded auid=4294967295
ses=4294967295
systemd[1]: Successfully loaded SELinux policy in 239.970ms.
systemd[1]: Relabelled /dev and /run in 17.007ms."

But Fedora 25, Debian 8, openSUSE Leap 12.2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Ubuntu
16.04.1 works like a charm

Hello Andrea, Daniel

That's right Device Manager says this:

"Windows don't have the "PCI Simple Communications Controller" Driver"

We can´t migrate to oVirt 4.X yet. Is it safe to mix the oVirt Tools Setup
for oVirt 4.x in a oVirt 3.6 Installation ?

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt Guest Agent doesn't work in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard x86-64

2017-01-18 Thread Julián Tete
Hi Andrea

Triple Check

When the path is wrong we get this type of message:

"Windows could not start the Balloon Service on Local Computer.

Error2: The system cannot find the file specified."

But in this case, we get:

"The OVirt Guest Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some
services stop automatically if they are not in use in use by other services
or programs."

¿ Maybe a oVirt bug ?

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt Guest Agent doesn't work in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard x86-64

2017-01-17 Thread Julián Tete
Hi Andrea

I tried with this solution:

https://www.mail-archive.com/users@ovirt.org/msg37420.html

And I input this orders:

Balloon Service oVirt 3.6:

sc config BalloonService binpath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\oVirt Guest
Tools\drivers\Balloon\2k12R2\amd64\blnsvr.exe" DisplayName= "Balloon
Service oVirt 3.6" start= auto

SPICE:

sc config vdservice binpath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\oVirt Guest
Tools\64\vdservice.exe" DisplayName= "SPICE VDAgent" start= auto

oVirt Service:

sc config OVirtGuestService binpath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\oVirt Guest
Tools\OVirtGuestService.exe" DisplayName= "OVirt Guest Service" start= auto

This solution corrects the BalloonService error, but oVirt Service doesn't
work yet:

"The OVirt Guest Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some
services stop automatically if they are not in use in use by other services
or programs."

Re: [ovirt-users] User admin@internal can't login in oVirt 3.6

2016-06-22 Thread Julián Tete
S-O-L-V-E-D!!!

You are a Wizard Ondra Machacek!!!

Thank you very much !!! How Apache says: "It works"

A have a question for you

In the command

su - postgres -c "psql -t engine -c \"insert into permissions values
('001b-001b-001b-001b-029f',
'----0001',
'fdfc627c-d875-11e0-90f0-83df133b58cc',
'aaa0----123456789aaa', 1);\"

What's the meaning of:

001b-001b-001b-001b-029f

----0001

aaa0----123456789aaa

1

¿?

Thanks again

That's right I remove internal properties :/

This is the output of the commands:

*/usr/share/ovirt-engine/bin/o*

*virt-engine-role.sh --command=add --user-name=admin
--authz-name=internal-authz --role=SuperUser*

*Output:*

[ovirt-users] User admin@internal can't login in oVirt 3.6

2016-06-20 Thread Julián Tete
oVirt: 3.6.2

Trying to use:

https://github.com/machacekondra/ovirt-engine-kerbldap-migration

First use:

engine-manage-domains add --domain=udistritaloas.edu.co --provider=ipa
--user=admin --ldap-servers=freeipa.udistritaloas.edu.co

The domain was added, but a I can't access to the webadmin portal :/

I get the message:

"User is not authorized to perform this action."

You nailed it

But I don't see the "--provision-dwh-db --provision-reports-db" in

http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/engine/engine-backup/

Yes, I installed virt-v2v in all hosts of the Cluster and in the Engine :P

The S.O of the machine to migrate is CentOS 6.6

When I try to use the GUI to add a External Provider (VMware) I get the
error message:

*Failed to retrieve VMs information from external server
vpx://192.168.0.129/CNSCDatacenter/srvesx01?no_verify=1
<http://192.168.0.129/CNSCDatacenter/srvesx01?no_verify=1>*

But when I use the command:

virsh -c vpx://
Administrator@192.168.0.129/CNSCDatacenter/Cluster_CNSC/srvesx01?no_verify=1

I can connect to VMware.

I can´t parse the Cluster data (Cluster_CNSC) in the GUI to add a External
Provider (VMware)

:/

Thanks in advance

Thank very much

I love oVirt 3.6, so far so good.

2015-10-08 Thread Julián Tete
I found the reason of my Problem: the virtual machines can't write the ARP
table ¡¡¿?!!

When I manually use the command:

arp -s 192.168.XXX.XX 00:09:XX:XX:XX:XX

I can reach the gateway

I can't reach anything from my net segment but i can reach Internet (Double
¡¡¿?!!)

For the moment I wrote a script, but is awful to do this.

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance :)

 I tried a different Aproach:

 One VLAN for each NIC

I tried but not works I left the Virtual Machine pinging the Gateway
after 10 minutes I left my Worstation alone and I went back to my home.
Today i see the ping working (¿?) Maybe I rush too much...or maybe not.

I reboot the Virtual Machine, same problem: after 15 minutes the Machine
can't reach the Gateway, we need HA and 10+ minutes it's not considerated.

After a I mess my oVirt LAB, after trying everything.

This my last working setup with sloow reaching of Gateway:

[ovirt-users] Can´t use a VM Network VLAN, because the Virtual Machines inside can't reach the Gateway

2015-06-30 Thread Julián Tete
Hi Friends of oVirt

I'm trying to migrate my company from VMware to oVirt.
In my final tests, I set up 2 more VLANs in oVirt, (VM VLANs)
The Virtual Machines in these VLANs, can be reached from the external IPs
from the net range,
but from the Virtual machines only can ping the Host with the Bridge and
itself, can't reach the gateway. ¿?

I configured a IP Forwarding in the Host with the virtual machine, and
nothing changes...

Any idea ? This is the last duty before embrace oVirt in the company.

Look to the VLAN 100 configuration (My desired VM Network):

Hi Donny

We have HP Switches (HP 5406zl) and they are configurated on trunk mode.
(VMware is configurated to use that).

Any suggestion ?

Thanks for your response.

Re: [ovirt-users] [SOLVED] Problem with a second host: Exit message: internal error: Cannot find suitable CPU model for given data.

2015-05-11 Thread Julián Tete
Hi Friends of oVirt

I talked with the network administrator and remove the proxy rules to a
range of IP's, installed oVirt with hosted engine on CentOS 7.1 and
everything run just fine. Previously I set the enviroment settings to
include the include proxy and proxy exceptions for the all the users of the
system with a file in /etc/profile.d/ directory. I used to do this and
always works.

It's a bug in oVirt ?

My ovirt-image-repository it's working now and with IP's behind the proxy
doesn't.

oVirt doesn't play nice behind a web proxy ?

   Hi

   Thanks for advices. :)

I reinstalled the Second Host, Installed QEMU/KVM with virt-manager,
   created virtual machines, no hassle.

I don't think in BIOS problem, beacuse are new machines and I didn't
 touch
   anything.

Please double check that, also compare with the working host.

 Best,

Yesterday I did format the Second Host and try the Server-World
 aproach on
   CentOS 7:

   http://www.server-world.info/en/note?os=CentOS_6p=ovirtf=2

   Didn't work

Today i'm going to format the machine and try to install a hosted
 engine on
   the Second Host.

   I'm listening suggestions.

I don't have many more, sorry.

If BIOS Setup is exactly the same, I suggest to ask this in a libvirt
 mailing
  list.

  Best,

[ovirt-users] Problems with adding a host in Ovirt (Hosted Engine) behind a proxy server. (The additional Host can't see the Storage Domain)

2015-04-14 Thread Julián Tete
Hello Friends of oVirt, I'd setup a oVirt enviroment (hosted-engine) behind
a proxy.

But I can't add any additional Host to my Cluster.

I'm phase of testing (SELinux Permissive, No firewall)

All the machines are CentOS 7.1

When I try to add a Host, the operation it's OK, but don't see the Data
Master Storage and the operation at the ends fails, and the additional host
it's Non Operational.

My

FQDN Engine: ovirt.udistritaloas.edu.co

FQDN Host with the Host-Engine and with the Data Master Storage:
patascoy.udistritaloas.edu.co

FQDN Additional host: sotara.udistritaloas.edu.co

This is the problem's resume:

2015-Apr-13, 17:08 Failed to connect Host Sotara to Storage Pool OAS

2015-Apr-13, 17:08 Host Sotara cannot access the Storage Domain(s)
UNKNOWN attached to the Data Center OAS. Setting Host state to
Non-Operational.

2015-Apr-13, 17:08 Failed to connect Host Sotara to Storage Servers

2015-Apr-13, 17:08 The error message for connection
patascoy.udistritaloas.edu.co:/oVirt/vms returned by VDSM was: Problem
