Re: [ovirt-users] How to join Windows guest to AD domain via Sysprep?

2016-12-16 Thread Nate T. Llaneza
Hey Danny,

Before you sysprep the VM did you make sure to add the floppy drive, so that
Windows installs the driver? I ask because this is the step that I tripped me
up when first started building my Windows templates. In the run once box just
check the Attach Floppy. Make sure it shows up in the VM before sysprep.

I wonder where do I set credentials allowing OS to be domain joined?
Is it inherits the user I've used to login to oVirt engine?

Thanks

Maybe print screen or if you are using REST API so which command you use.

Also can you please ensure you're windows machine is correctly joined in the AD.
You should also check the log and see if the parameters are indeed send in the
log,
also check the event log in the windows if user will at least try to login.
If not, then it's most probably a bug, so please open it here:

I forgot to answer where to set the domain. It is also in the run once box. It
will only show up after you attach the floppy drive.

Hey Guys,

I just performed the update to ovirt-4.0.6-pre on my hosted engine hypervisor

the Glib error message I sent earlier. Awesome! The downside is that the

Hi all,

Do you know anyone providing official support for ovirt?
I have played with ovirt and I am thinking to back it up with some support for
enterprise use in case I am stuck.

Thanx,
Alex

[ovirt-users] Hosted-Engine Fails to Start

2016-12-14 Thread Nate T. Llaneza
Hey Guys,

I am running into a little problem. I shutdown today to run updates and when I
went to power back up the cannot get the hosted engine to come back online. I
am running CentOS 7 for my hypervisors. I did notice that CentOS has released
the 7.3 updates. I want to say I have narrowed it down to this error in
/var/log/libvirt/qemu/Hosted-Engine.log:

GLib-WARNING **: gmem.c:482: custom memory allocation vtable not supported

It seems like this was suppose to be fixed?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1360137

I am attaching the Hosted Engine log file.

Just for fun I did try updating the qemu-kvm version to 2.6 from the
ovirt-master-snapshot-static... It did not seem to help. Thanks for looking
into this!

Nathan

[ovirt-users] OVA Import - Failed to convert VM

2016-12-04 Thread Nate T. Llaneza
Hey All,

I am trying to import a VM into oVirt. I am attempting to use the web interface
to do so. I started by exporting a ova file directly from VMware Workstation. I
uploaded the file to the local hard disk of a virtual host. Changed the
permissions on the file to 36:36. The last step from what I can see was to go
into the web interface and "import" the VM. I used the VMware Virtual Appliance
as the source and specified the local path to the ova. It detected the ova, and
I was able to move it into the "Virtual Machines to Import" box. After oVirt
starts the import of the VM it ends up failing with the error "Failed to
convert VM", and then shortly after it deletes the VM.

I am attaching a snippet of the engine.log, but I can't really make heads or
tails of the error messages in there. I am on oVirt 4.0.5. The virtual host is
running CentOS 7. Thanks in advance!
