According to BZ : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1540451#c19 you should retry with a newer kernel >= -851 if possible . If you still get the error please provide full setup and vdsm logs. Hi There is a BZ with a similar issue: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1546839 To sum things up, try stopping the network manager and restarting your network if you are using a RH distribution, e,g. : systemctl stop NetworkManager systemctl restart network And check what is your kernel version. Re: [ovirt-users] adding a host
For removing the non operational host : 1.Right click on the host name 2.Click on "Confirm host has been rebooted" 3.Remove the host For the issue you are experiencing with host addition, according to the engine logs you have sent, you might need to perform a few steps , see: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1516256#c2 I would also recommend to check the the host's network is not down. Also, during installation of the host, observe the messages in the Events section (UI) Hope this helps. Hi, What document are you using ? Hi Justin, What are the version release numbers of ovirt-hosted-engine, ovirt-host, ovirt-engine, vdsm, ovirt-host-deploy, libvirt ? What type of installation are you using ? What is the status of the ovirt-ha-*agent* ovirt-ha-broker services ? Does vm.conf file exist ? (e.g. /var/run/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha/vm.conf) What is the output of hosted-engine --vm-status ? Re: [ovirt-users] Scheduling policy time interval and others
Hi, These properties are a part of load balancing (you will either get them with default values when selecting one of the pre-defined scheduling policies that include load balancing or you can set them when creating/editing a new scheduling policy with load balancing) Regarding the example above , HighUtilization and CpuOverCommitDurationMinutes are intertwined. HighUtilization or other similar properties will use to determine if the cpu/memory load for a host is outside of utilization values (determination of under utilized hosts / over utilized hosts) - these will be taken into account if the defined CpuOverCommitDurationMinutes property has passed (and you can see the connection the other way around) Regards, Yanir Quinn On Sun, Aug 13, 2017 at 12:01 PM, Artyom Lukianov wrote: > You can set these parameters under Cluster Edit Dialog -> Scheduling > Policies. > > Best Regards > > On Sat, Aug 12, 2017 at 9:19 PM, wodel youchi > wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> When reading about scheduling policy, I am faced with some variables, but >> I cannot find any explanation on how they are defined or where are they >> defined. >> >> For example : >> - HighUtilization: Expressed as a percentage. Re: [ovirt-users] Yum error while installing host on Centos7
where did you manually install the packages ? engine or host machine ? you can you provide the engine.log to see what might cause the error on the engine's side. maybe rollback the last yum transaction you did and try to run the engine again. as far as for the host installation you might need to check the exiting repositories (Cenots or other existing repos on the machine) , its not recommended to use --skip-broken usually when adding a host. Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt and mixed selinux
As far as it goes for RHEV: - Virtual machine migration will fail if migrating from a hypervisor with SELinux enabled to one with SELinux disabled - A virtual machine previously started on a hypervisor with SELinux enabled will not start on a hypervisor with SELinux disable. RHEV manages the SELinux configuration on RHEV Hypervisors in a persistent state, SELinux is enabled by default. You'll need to run sestatus as a superuser on each host in the cluster and observe the output, evaluate each host in the cluster to make sure the setting for "SELinux status" is consistent. Re: [ovirt-users] Hosted Engine increase memory
Hi, In order to increase the memory allocation or the cpu cores of the hosted engine VM, the VM must be brought down and the vm.conf configuration file must be edited on every hypervisor: Set global maintenance mode from the hypervisor the VM is currently running on: # hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global Cleanly shutdown the engine VM: # hosted-engine --vm-shutdown Makes sure the VM is Down and not 'Powering Off' before proceeding: # hosted-engine --vm-status Edit /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/vm.conf on *each* hypervisor, and change these lines to whatever amount of RAM in MB / CPU cores you wish the VM to have: memSize=4096 smp=1 *smp = number of virtual cores* Start the VM again:# hosted-engine --vm-start And take it out of maintenance mode: # hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=none Regards, Yanir Quinn On Sat, Jul 29, 2017 at 1:36 AM, gregor wrote: > Hi, > > is it possible to increase the memory of an hosted engine after the > installation? > > cheers > gregor > ___ > Users mailing list > Users@ovirt.org > http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users > ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Re: [ovirt-users] change disk profile
Hi, Can you elaborate more on your attempts for changing / adding the disk profile ? Does the disk profile change to the default one even after setting a different disk profile ? What version are you working on ? If you created a new disk profile (with the you're desired Qos / Unlimited) for a storage domain Then when adding a disk to a vm you can select a disk profile out of the existing storage domain's disk profiles (default and the ones you created) You can even choose to edit the vm's disk via the UI and change the disk profile. Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4.0 Hosted Engine
Hi, Under Clusters-> your cluster -> Scheduling policy : 1. What is your selected policy and what properties does it contains ? 2. Under Additional Properties , is "Enable HA Reservation" selected ? Also check if your host has the necessary hooks (e.g. macspoof) as in the first host you deployed the hosted engine on and that it has power management enabled. Re: [ovirt-users] Importing *.ova appliance
Hi, A couple of questions for starters : 1. What did you use for importing the ova file ? have you tried the uploader command : engine-image-uploader -e --name upload 2.Was the ova file was created by oVirt ? (the uploader tool supports only files created by ovirt) Regards, Yanir Quinn On Mon, Jun 27, 2016 at 3:37 PM, Anantha Raghava < rag...@exzatechconsulting.com> wrote: > Hi, > > How do we import a *.ova appliance in oVirt?
