[ovirt-users] Adding iSCSI Target IP Address to Existing Storage Data Domain
Hi! Do you have suggestions if we can add a new iSCSI target IP address to an existing Storage Data Domain? Earlier, we had an issue where the storage device unexpectedly rebooted. It has 3 IP addresses used for iSCSI connections. For oVirt, we're connected to that storage device using 1 iSCSI Target IP address. The problem is that the adapters are down for that IP. What we're trying to do is to add the other IP addresses to connect to the LUNs/devices. Do you think simply logging in to the target will help? I've checked on previous threads and it was suggested that the storage data domain should be detached first then re-add using the new IP address. [ovirt-users] Re: Advise Needed - Hosted Engine Minor Update
Hi Strahil, Thank you for the suggestion. I'll take note of it and will definitely try those steps once we have Gluster already configured. :) Hi Didi, Thanks for your inputs as well. I've tried the steps and was able to revert back to 4.3.8. Here's the complete steps performed for the update / rollback: 1. Take backup of the current environment (1 node in maintenance mode). 2. Enable global maintenance. 3. Update the HostedEngine following the documentation available for minor updates 4. Update / install other packages using yum update 5. Disable global maintenance then reboot HE If there's a need to rollback, 1. Run engine-cleanup 2. yum history undo ($ID of updates done in updates for step 3 and 2) 3. Perform a restore using the backup 4. Run engine-setup to complete the setup Will try these steps for updating to 4.3.10. Thank you again! :) ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/5QLUU7MUJQMWZXO3A4W2BPQYXW3XQOMR/
[ovirt-users] Advise Needed - Hosted Engine Minor Update
Hi Guys! How do you usually backup your hosted engine prior minor updates? I’ve tried to perform a minor update from 4.3.8 to 4.3.9 recently. I’ve used engine-backup before updating and for restore. However, the problem I’m encountering now is that, it looks like the hosted-engine settings are only being restored. The version is still 4.3.9 when I’m trying to revert it to 4.3.8. Am I missing some steps aside from engine-backup —restore? I saw on old posts that snapshots of hosted engine is not a recommended step before upgrade/update. Appreciate your help in advance! ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/6GUJ7DMLLDYCKQ52FO5FE3NPNDFQYFIS/
[ovirt-users] HostedEngine Upgrade and Rollback
Hi Everyone, Our HostedEngine is previously running in version 4.3.7 then updated it to 4.3.8. Before the update, we did a full backup of the HE. After a successful update, we're testing to roll it back to the previous backup. The cluster setting has been rolled back but the Hosted version is still 4.3.8. Is there a best way to rollback a HostedEngine after a successful minor update? I've read somewhere that if an upgrade / update is unsuccessful, HostedEngine will be rolled back to the previous version automatically. Thanks in advance. ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/YG27GTF2OHOC2H4KKDILCANJECLFSMFW/
