So anyone willing to help with how to setup hosts to use local storage? As I already wrote to you you have to put the host into maintenance mode in order to be able to configure local storage. Didn't this work? Re: [ovirt-users] How do i use local storage of hosts with ovirt?
For sure an All-In-One installation lets you configure a local storage domain: http://www.ovirt.org/Feature/AllInOne I have one setup like this where I definied more local storage domains (aka more mount points pointing to different disks with different speeds...) I don't know if this can match your needs I don't remember if you can configure local storage domain for a non-allinone setup. If not, I think it would be interesting to offer it as an enahncement for future releases. A possible workflow could be: offer chance to add local storage only if the cluster is composed by only one node and in that case show a big warning that adding a local storage would prevent adding other nodes to this cluster therafter. If trying then to add another node, show a message that it is not possible as it has a local storage domain attached Gianluca ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Put the/a host in maintenance, then create local storage and move the host to the datacenter/cluster that has been generated and bring it up. You can't have two hosts using the same local storage but that is by design :-) No hosted engine too. Joop ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users

Re: [ovirt-users] How do i use local storage of hosts with ovirt?
This is why i like Ganeti because they are the only one that understand there is a niche and support for clusters using local storage of hosts. I mean not everyone wants a Shared/network storage for crying out loud.
