Restarting vdsm and hosts didn't do anything helpful.
I was able to clone from latest snapshot, then live snapshot the new cloned
VM.
After upgrading engine to 3.4 and upgrading my hosts, I can now live
snapshot this VM.

For some real world context, we seem to accumulate s
queries run on the system all the time but the only failure I
encountered that was caused because of it was with live snapshots on a
loaded setup in which vm running on the hsm would fail live snapshots if
the system was loaded and the queries took a long time to come back.
However, since the er
steve,
I did not say that there is a limit. there is no limit and you can take
a 1000 snapshots if you like, I simply said that I think that it would
not be would a good practice to do so.
I also did not say that this is your current problem with the vm so you
are jumping to conclusions here.

All snapshots are from before failure.
That's a bit scary that there may be a 'too many snapshots' issue. I take
snapshots for point in time consistency, and without the ability to
collapse them while the vm is running I'm not sure what the best option is
here. What is the recommended snapshot lim

are you able to take an offline snapshot? (while the vm is down)
how many snapshots do you have on this vm?
