No that wasn't the problem, the network was fine, since I was connected to it
over SSH:)

What was wrong was that I already had a bridge called 'Public' on that
interface and the deploy couldn't handle that. Maybe RFE material... I just
removed the bridge and deployed again, and then I could specify 'eno1.1'. I am
bummed over the fact that I couldn't create the ovirtmgmt bridge before the
deploy, it just bombed, apparently by design:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1317125

I know how to configure it correctly, and if I don't, I won't blame you for my
mistakes!

Other than that I have had no problems deploying 4.1 hosted engine. Really nice
new dashboard and I love the new import from KVM feature, which I used to empty
my old environment before reinstalling as the second hosted engine host.

Great job everyone! It works great!

/K

2017-02-05 Thread Michael Burman
Hi

Karil, it is seems like you didn't configured the vlan device eno1.1
properly before you run hosted-engine --deploy.
How did you configured it?
If the vlan device was properly configured then you should have seen
something like :
Please indicate a nic to set ovirtmgmt bridge on: (eno1, eno1.1) [eno1]:

This should generally work. Is the vlan interface configured, before you
run deploy?

Please share both runs' logs. Thanks.

Adding Simone.

[ovirt-users] oVirt Engine 4.1 fails on specifying interface for ovirtmgmt

2017-02-03 Thread Karli Sjöberg
Heya!

I´m trying to complete 'hosted-engine --deploy' but I´m stuck at:
Please indicate a nic to set ovirtmgmt bridge on: (eno1) [eno1]: eno1.1
[ ERROR ] Invalid value

As you can see it´s a vlan-tagged interface. If I type in just 'eno1',
the setup continues but fails obviously since it´s the wrong network.

Any pointers?
