[ovirt-users] Ovirt Node (iso) - OK to enable Centos-BaseOS/Centos-Appstream repos ?

2021-03-23 Thread morgan cox
Hi.

I have installed Ovirt nodes via the ovirt-node iso (centos8 based) - on a
fresh install the standard CentOS repos are disabled (the ovirt 4-4 repo is
enabled)

As part of our company hardening we need to install a few packages from the
Centos repos.

Can I enable the CentOS-Linux-AppStream.repo + CentOS-Linux-BaseOS.repo repos
or will this cause issues when we update the node ?

Thanks

Hi Guillaume!

Welcome to the oVirt community! I'm sorry to hear you're having problems.

The node project [1] isn't really intended to be used as a stand-alone
product. It's purpose is to provide a minimal host environment that's
managed by the oVirt engine, which is the heart of the oVirt project. I
recommend looking at the deployment options documentation [2] and the quick
start guide [3]. They will help you with getting started. If you have any
questions about what you see there or get stuck somewhere along the line,
we'll be here to help. =)

[ovirt-users] ovirt-node iso installs non-bootable OS

2017-10-04 Thread Guillaume
Hello,

I'm new to ovirt, I try it for the first time.
I downloaded the iso ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.1-2017100406.iso
(http://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/ovirt-node-ng_ovirt-4.1_build-artifacts-el7-x86_64/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/exported-artifacts/ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.1-2017100406.iso)

I installed it twice, but each time I have the same problem.
When I reboot the PC after the install I can't start the OS, I have the
following error:

Failed to open EFIcentosgrubx64.efi - Not Found
Failed to load image EFIcentosgrubx64.efi: Not Found
start_image() returned Not Found

Am I the only one to have this error ?

Is there a way to solve this issue with the rescue iso choice ? or can I
download an older iso ?

Thanks,

Guillaume

That's correct, in 4.0 we register the host from engine.

When I try to add host from engine, it is reporting as the
target is a hypervisor host and terminating the setup. How do I proceed
further?

If you have the host up, you need to setup your storage, create disks
and finally the virtual machines.

In case you have any problem during the registration/deploy of host, in
engine, we have the events window (below window) with the log of deploy.
The full logs are also in engine machine:
/var/log/ovirt-engine/host-deploy/*.

I hope that helps.

Hey Jaco,

Cheers - I'll look for it give it a go.

Could I ask if an install-to-host option is available?
Also that the memtest image integrity tests are available at boot.

Yep - The installation is the default option.

I've also noted that there are not corresponding MD5 sums of images
available on sites, so it's tricky to validate/verify the integrity of
 images downloaded before flashing.

The iso is checking itself when you boot it up. But yes, let me attach the
md5sums of upcoming ovirt-node-iso builds.

 Please advise

[ovirt-users] ovirt node iso?

2014-07-29 Thread Jorick Astrego

Hi,

I wish to test the advanced foreman integration with node deploy again
but the node iso available is about a month old.

http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-3.5-pre/iso/ovirt-node-iso-3.5.0.ovirt35.20140630.el6.iso

Also it didn't work properly on the first test day

Doesn't it need testing or is it so broken that an update can't be
released at the moment?

Kind regards,

[ovirt-users] oVirt Node ISO for 3.5-pre

2014-07-08 Thread Fabian Deutsch
Hey,

here is another draft ISO which is intended to be used for testing with oVirt
3.5.

This ISO also provides for the first time the oVirt Node Hosted Engine plugin.

http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-3.5-pre/iso/ovirt-node-iso-3.5.0.ovirt35.20140707.el6.iso

We've learned from the past: To circumvent some SELinux issues, please append
enforcing=0 to the kernel commandline on boot.

And please provide us your feedback, so we can take a look and address the
problem.

Greetings
