Hello all, I'm a recent new fan of Sogo, and I'd really like to deploy as an Exchange and Active Directory replacement. I am impressed by the product, the activity, and the functionality. It's looking awesome.
I have tested the ZEG, but now I need to build my own installation on Ubuntu, for the following two reasons: - The available Sogo 2.0.5a ZEG VM is built as 64-bit VM and requires VT-x cpu support on host, which is not available for me - ZEG has the stated limitations (no SSL, etc) which I will need - No clear guide is available on how to re-configure ZEG to make workable for production use I must say that I am very surprised at the lack of current documentation/guide for deploying Sogo. Doesn't this represent a fairly huge hurdle for acceptance and use of the product? I understand the ZEG is intended for entry-level evaluation, but what about the average guy who wants to actually deploy Sogo in production? I have been using Linux for many years, and perhaps consider myself of intermediate to advanced expertise. After searching and finding all the issues that other (perhaps more skilled) people are having installing Sogo, and finding no current/thorough official guide, the Sogo (and supporting software) install seems very daunting and unappealing at the moment. I am aware of Olivier's guide at http://iabsis.com/EN/article/35/Installation-de-Samba4-et-Openchange-sur-un-serveur-Debian-ou-Ubuntu Many thanks to him for putting forth the effort. But I ran into problems right off the bat, compiling Samba. And I have found a number of other outdated guides or work-arounds, including the thread on the list here on how to reconfigure ZEG for a real domain. I am not sure where to go from here? I really want to use Sogo! It seems great! Could we get an official response from Inverse as to the recommended approach to achieve a production deployment of Sogo on Ubuntu?
