[SOGo] can't accept appointment invitation to mail-alias over SOGo mail modul

2016-05-23 Thread Thomas Winterstein

Hei everyone,

Is it possible to accept an appointment invitation through SOGo mail
modul although the mail address of the invitee is neither on the
attendee list nor in my user sources?

Ldap user sources:

ldapsearch -x -LLL -H ldaps://ldap -b ou=users,dc=augsburg,dc=de
uid=thomas mail

dn: uid=thomas,ou=users,dc=augsburg,dc=de
mail: thomas.winterst...@.rz.uni-augsburg.de

The invitation goes to 'postmas...@uni-augsburg.de' which is a
mail-alias for 'thomas.winterst...@rz.uni-augsburg.de'. The SOGo mail
modul shows the event invitation mail with appointment but there are no
options to process it. Also I don't want to add the mail-alias to my
user sources.

Is there something special about this account ? How come others work just fine ?

However, I think the issue is related to the number of messages in the user's
Inbox. For example, when attempting to view the Inbox in SOGO webmail, it takes
a solid 8-9 minutes to display it. Debugging that behavior, shows this IMAP
command to be responsible for this delay:
UID SORT (REVERSE DATE) UTF-8 NOT DELETED
The user has about 70 000 messages in his Inbox and I'm assuming that takes a
while. SOGO webmail keeps spinning while that command completes and eventually
displays the messages.
EAS, from what I see just displays data it finds in SQL but it returns empty so
that's why it shows 'Folders are up to date' right away.
Is this a bug ? Shouldn't EAS hold while the Inbox gets sorted ?
On a related note, wouldn't it be faster to not have the IMAP server sort the
messages but rather pull them all and sort them in the application ?
Thank you

Yes this is possible.
You have to install 3.x on another server than 2.x and use the same DB.

Beware:
The database location is stored in the DB itself.
Therefore if you used "localhost", this will not work from the second
machine.
If you used an DNS Alias (e.g. defined in /etc/hosts)

No, not at all.
That script is only needed, if you want to change to the new db schema
with only a few tables for all users, instead of 6 tables per user.
Then you have to change the SOGo configuration too.

> but will this make any changes to the database that would be incompatible

Yes, 2.3 is not capable of using the new schema (yet?).

If you keep the existing db schema, it will work without problems.

Yes, but not on the same system.
They can use the same DB, but not the same Webfrontend.

Look at the mailing list archive for such setups.

I would imagine I need to run the database schema update to 3.0.0 (via
sql-update-3.0.0-to-combined-mysql.sh), but will this
No, you don't need to run this script, it's optional (and will break 2.x
compatibility)

There are no such requests. Only . I removed the user entirely using sogo-tool
remove and from Outlook.
I then re-added the account to Outlook and it added just fine - came up right
away with 'All folders are up to date'
In sogo logs, the only post Outlook does is:

May 23 10:52:22 sogod [10414]: |SOGo| starting method 'POST' on uri
'/SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?Cmd=FolderSync=b...@testdomain.com=F61F834D9A4B441DAF76A478712AEE71=WindowsOutlook15'
May 23 10:52:24 sogod [10414]: 195.24.238.40 "POST
/SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?Cmd=FolderSync=b...@testdomain.com=F61F834D9A4B441DAF76A478712AEE71=WindowsOutlook15
 HTTP/1.1" 200 1417/13 1.380 - - 1M
It replies with a long response for:
Other devices/Outlook also send Cmd=Sync, but not on this account.
Even if I hit Send / Receive, all I see is the above: Cmd=FolderSync
Thanks

Hi!

 is not meaningful here, it will only find data on new profiles or if there are
changes to the folder hierarchy.

Search for requests and their responses when you recreate the account or
after you used sogo-tool manage-eas resetfolder.

Thank you

[SOGo] LDAP address book not visible

2016-05-23 Thread "Roman Smid"
Hello,
I'm trying to add a LDAP global address book to my SoGo 3.1 installation on
Ubuntu server, but with no luck. I want to use it only as an address book,
not for authentication, which is done using MSQL and working well. I have
added

  SOGoUserSources = (
{
  type = ldap;
  CNFieldName = cn;
  UIDFieldName = uid;
  IDFieldName = uid; // first field of the DN for direct binds
  bindFields = (uid, cn); // array of fields to use for indirect binds
  baseDN = "ou=admini,dc=iba,dc=muni,dc=cz";
  bindDN = "cn=admin,dc=iba,dc=muni,dc=cz";
  bindPassword = "secret";
  canAuthenticate = NO;
  displayName = "Address book";
  hostname = ldap://127.0.0.1:389;
  id = adresar;
  isAddressBook = YES;
  scope = SUB;
  userPasswordAlgorithm = ssha;
}
  );

But this source does not show up in the Web UI at all (no "Address book"
visible among Global Addressbooks).
I have enabled the LDAPDebugEnabled option, but nothing concerning LDAP
appears in the log.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanx
Roman

[SOGo] Upgrading 2.3->3.1

2016-05-23 Thread "Laz C. Peterson"
Hi there,

We are looking to upgrade, and I am curious to know if it is possible to run
both 2.3 and 3.1 at the same time (testing, etc.)?

I would imagine I need to run the database schema update to 3.0.0 (via
sql-update-3.0.0-to-combined-mysql.sh), but will this make any changes to the
database that would be incompatible with 2.3? And also, does 3.1 store data
any differently in any existing tables that would cause a problem?

Thank you!

[SOGo] OpenChange and multiple domains

2016-05-23 Thread "Laz C. Peterson"
Hello,

I’ve been looking at OpenChange to configure native Outlook functionality, but
have been hesitant for quite a while, since we have multiple active directory
domains that SOGo is authenticating from. Has anyone had any experience with
multiple domains and OpenChange/SOGo?

SOGo itself works great with the multiple domains … But it seems OpenChange is
not so friendly, requiring the server itself to be joined to the AD as a domain
controller — I really don’t want to have to create a new OpenChange host for
each domain.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: [SOGo] What is better for battery on mobile devices?

2016-05-23 Thread Adrian Figueroa

Hello,

ActiveSync works great for battery life in my experience. Especially, if
the connection to the device is kept open for a long time without
reconnection (24 hours for example).

Hi,

I currently run SOGo-3.1.0 with Apple devices (Macs, iPhones and iPads). I also
use Dovecot for IMAP. Currently I use directly CalDAV/CardDAV and IMAP with a
poll interval of 30 minutes. I have seen that I also could use ActiveSync. But
as I understood, this keeps a connection open (until a timeout of 6 minutes I
guess).

What is the preferred solution for iOS devices? Does ActiveSync have a negative
impact for the battery?

Thanks

[SOGo] Short drag accidentally deletes calendar entry

2016-05-23 Thread Carsten Woltmann
Just stumbled across a potentially annoying bug:

Situation: Calendar view with at least one calendar entry being
displayed. Short drag/drop (like 1mm to the right) of the item (quickly,
without waiting for the frontend to realize what's going on) makes the
item pop up it's description. From here, there is nothing (not even
edit->save) that can prevent the item from being deleted the moment the
dialog is closed.

Especially in environments with a laggy webinterface this can become
very annoying!

Best, Bb
