 The problem is, that Apple does not allow other browser engines to be

Thank you, that is the reason why the problems are very similar.
First, I think the browser is not compatible with AJAX.

 It's the reason why Mozilla no longer builds Firefox for iOS.

Yep, I spent time looking for Firefox but I could not find it.
On windows, I found IE and Maxthon worked OK for me.

Re: [SOGo] Installation and Configuration

2013-05-08 Thread Christian Mack
Hello Paul Pathiakis

 I'm assisting some of the people on the port to FreeBSD. I have an incredible
 amount of questions but I'm going to limit them to bundled one offs so that I
 don't create an unwieldy thread.

Nice.

 This one covers sogo.conf location, configuration of the DB/User profiles and
 an error generated from a possible misconfiguration.

 I'm on FreeBSD 9.1.
 Postgresql 9.2
 I'm attempting to use SOGO 2.0.5 and SOPE.

 1) I've had to read everything about the sogod process and I, finally,
 deduced
 from reading that it creates the postgresql tables upon the initial startup.
 (Correct?)

Not only on the initial startup.
When starting sogod it checks, if the needed/configured tables are there.
If not, it will create them.

This is handy, when you eg. drop the session table, it will create it anew.
I had to do that because of a restore once.

 2) There is a configuration file known as sogo.conf. I believe this to be the
 default settings of the sogod process and it's interface to the
 protocol/login/pw/host of various services that it will use. (Correct?)

Yes, since 2.0.4 this is the main config file.
But you also can use the GNUStep defaults command, which stores its
informations in the sogo user directory.

 Questions:

 1) Does the postgresql user sogo need to be created before starting sogod for
 the first time? (I would think so.)

Yes, definitely.
And you have to create the database sogo and give the sogo db user
apropriate privileges on that.

 2) Is there a manual script to create the database tables in postgresql? If
 so, where is it locatied?

Never saw such a thing.
I think this is not possible at all, because you have 3 tables per user,
which will be created when you add a user.
So it has to be dynamic at least for those.

 3) Does a system user account with a home directory and login shell required
 any longer outside of a UID and GID for the process. (Everything says 'no')

You don't need the login shell, but you need the home directory, because
GNUStep uses that.

 4) Where is the sogo.conf file supposed to exist?

In /etc/sogo/
But you can choose if you use it or not, see above.

 5) Is the sogo.conf location hardcoded or does it take the variable from the
 GNUstep environment that is sourced upon startup? If so, what is the name of
 the variable defining this location?

I don't know, sorry.

 6) I get this error in the /var/log/sogo/sogo.log file: sogod[82779] No value
 specified for 'SOGoProfileURL' This makes me believe that it is not
 reading
 sogo.conf file that I have as in it, I have:

 SOGoProfileURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_user_profile

 OCSFolderInfoURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_folder_info;
 OCSSessionsFolderURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_sessions_folder;

There is a double quote and a semicolon missing at the end of
SOGoProfileURL.
Therefore your config is invalid and therfore not used.

Christian Mack

Hi,

two questions:
1. Don't you need a password for bind to ldap ? (one should know, that
dovecot only needs login to ldap to check if mail-address is known.
After that it makes a self-bind with login-credentials (so cn=admin
don't need to see the password of users)

2. Did you try connect/search via ldapsearch ?
something like: ldapsearch -x -D cn=admin,dc=example,dc=org -b
dc=mail,dc=example,dc=org -W ((objectClass=posixAccount)(uid=%u))

Hope this could help finding the problem and is not only bla-bla ;-)

Hi,

so there is a problem with LDAP.

Try slapcat an search for the same info, you are looking for with the
ldapsearch. Is it really there ?

Try ldapearch with other filter (at the end) (objectClass=*).

Perghaps you didn't use posixAccount objectclass or your DN ist with
mail= instead of uid=.

 Try ldapearch with other filter (at the end) (objectClass=*).

 Perghaps you didn't use posixAccount objectclass or your DN ist with

Re: [SOGo] Installation and Configuration

2013-05-08 Thread Paul Pathiakis
Christian,
Thank you for all the answers  I can now wrap my mind around a lot of
things that are happening 'behind the scenes'.

My only comment is on the below and it's my cut-and-paste fault :-(

snip

 6) I get this error in the /var/log/sogo/sogo.log file:  sogod[82779] No value
 specified for 'SOGoProfileURL'     This makes me believe that it is not
 reading
 sogo.conf file that I have as in it, I have:

 SOGoProfileURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_user_profile

 OCSFolderInfoURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_folder_info;
 OCSSessionsFolderURL = postgresql://sogo:thisisfun@DB host
 IP:5432/sogo/sogo_sessions_folder;

There is  a double quote and a semicolon missing at the end of
SOGoProfileURL.
Therefore your config is invalid and therfore not used.

I checked the file it's in there.  Bad CandP. :-(

Re: [SOGo] Installation and Configuration

2013-05-08 Thread Paul Pathiakis
Ok,

I went through a full 'truss'  (trace to those of us who use Linux.  :-)  Yes,
I use anything that is 'the best tool for the job'  I'm pseudo versed in
Debian, RH, CentOS, SuSe, etc  - haven't tried the Ubuntu variants so much
yet)

It seems that it only looks for sogo.conf in /usr/local/etc/sogo/sogo.conf.
*shrug*  .  I don't know why yet... but.
read(4,{\n    WOWorkersCount = 1;\n    ...,4096) = 2555 (0x9fb)
close(4)                     = 0 (0x0)
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK,0x0,0x0)             = 0 (0x0)
stat(/etc/sogo/debconf.conf,0x7fffd440)     ERR#2 'No such file or
directory'
stat(/usr/local/etc/sogo/sogo.conf,{ mode=-rw-r--r--
,inode=81889,size=3136,blksize=4096 }) = 0 (0x0)
stat(/usr/local/etc/sogo/sogo.conf,{ mode=-rw-r--r--
,inode=81889,size=3136,blksize=4096 }) = 0 (0x0)
open(/usr/local/etc/sogo/sogo.conf,O_RDONLY,0666) = 4 (0x4)
fstat(4,{ mode=-rw-r--r-- ,inode=81889,size=3136,blksize=4096 }) = 0 (0x0)
fstat(4,{ mode=-rw-r--r-- ,inode=81889,size=3136,blksize=4096 }) = 0 (0x0)
lseek(4,0x0,SEEK_CUR)                 = 0 (0x0)
lseek(4,0x0,SEEK_SET)                 = 0 (0x0)
read(4,{\n  /* *  M...,4096) = 3136 (0xc40)
close(4)                     = 0 (0x0)
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK,0x0,0x0)             = 0 (0x0)

sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK,0x0,0x0)             = 0 (0x0)

So, I created that directory and copied a version of the file there  (It's
port development so I'm not worrying about the why's yet)

Next..  After that problem was corrected.  This occurred:

open(/usr/local/GNUstep/Local/Library/Libraries/Resources/NGObjWeb/Defaults.plist,O_RDONLY,0666)
 = 4 (0x4)
fstat(4,{ mode=-rw-r--r-- ,inode=114651,size=10879,blksize=11264 }) = 0 (0x0)
fstat(4,{ mode=-rw-r--r-- ,inode=114651,size=10879,blksize=11264 }) = 0 (0x0)

lseek(4,0x0,SEEK_SET)                 = 0 (0x0)

[SOGo] Openchange with a member DC server

2013-05-08 Thread Mark
Hi all,

Was wondering if there are any special steps necessary for using openchange
with samba 4 as a member DC server. The samba server has replicated the AD
structure from the master which already has a exchange entry.

Running openchange_provision failed as there was already an entry for
exchange. I am not a windows administrator so not too familiar with AD
entries.

Should it just work if I point an outlook client at the ip address of the
sogo/samba server?

Will be testing it tomorrow when I get to a windows client tomorrow.

cheers
