[SOGo] proxy error

2012-09-08 Thread Imo Graf
Hello,

sometimes after a lontime sogo crashed. I get the proxy error when I try to
login into SOGo.

This is the log when I try to login:

When I restart SOGo then SOGo works again. Can someone help me to solve this
problem? Since version 1.13 I never had this problem only at version 1.16
(current installed version)

Best regards.

That error is pretty obvious. SOGoMailSpoolPath points to /tmp (or
it's not set in your installation so it points there by default) and
your "sogo" user can't write to the /tmp directory.

If its just a mail spool, try and see if its readable. You can use
Evolution to read these mail spools AFAIK.

Also check permissions, perhaps you have one corrupted email in the
spool, that can't be read by SOGo

When SSLEngine is not recognized by apache, then this means you don't
have installed/enable the apache ssl module.

When you updated with yum, you should have seen a message about "SOGo.conf saved as
SOGo.conf.rpmnew". This means that there was a new SOGo.conf, but yum didn't want to
overwrite your current file. It turns out that GNUstep changed directories, and you need
to make your changes for your system to the SOGo.conf.rpmnew file and save it as SOGo.conf

When I was having that problem after removing the stale sope packages (and sogo
by dependency), when I reinstalled I found (with Ludovic's help) that the sogo
user was removed and recreated with a new userid (from 5007 to 5013). My sogo
log directory (/var/log/sogo) was created with a owner of sogo, but all the log
files were created with a owner of 5007 (old sogo user), so new sogo couldn't
open the logfile. I was seeing the same you are... sogod terminating
immediately after starting and leaving a stale pid. I would also see the
following line in /var/log/messages:

sogod[some number] unable to get status of descriptor 2 - Bad file descriptor

Do you see that, as well? Anyway, the fix for me was to chown all the log files
in /var/log/sogo to sogo user (not by number). I suppose you could also delete
all the log files there if you don't need to see them.

Jeff

Ah, thanks

That did the trick. I had old sope file lying around. Sadly these were
not updated automatically by yum update (why?). I had to remove the
following packages by hand:
- sope49-gdl1-contentstore
- sope49-ical
- sope49-cards

This remove sogo as well (dependency). After install sogo again I got
new sope-card and sope-gdl1-contentstore files. Old versions were
1.3_20110726 (ical was even older: 4.9-20100721). new Versions are
1.3.9-2 so they match the one from sogo package. sope-ial seems no
longer be needed.

Once again, many thanks to you working at SOGo, it is a awesome piece
of software.

Update all SOPE packages. You likely have old SOPE packages installed

why don't you tell your cyrus server to create the folders on first

i have this in my imapd.conf:
autocreateinboxfolders: sent|drafts|spam|templates|Trash

This is good point, thanks. When does cyrus create those folders, during
mainbox creation or when? Thing is that we already have many mailboxes
created.

Also, the metter I asked this question was that SOGo does create Sent
and Trash folders when it needs them and there are none. So I winder why
it does do so for Drafts???

Agreed that the method with cyrus is more portable, allows use of
multiple clients with central configuration for folders.

Hello,

I want use the CardDAV Server with my iPhone and Apple Adressbook. For

AliasMatch /SOGo/so/ControlPanel/Products/(.*)/Resources/(.*) \
   /usr/GNUstep/System/Library/SOGo/$1.SOGo/Resources/$2
