Re: [SOGo] Email not being sent
Morning, A question what is the outbound smtp port you are trying to use, 25 or 587. Providers might tend to block 25 as that is know to have spam sent out on it hence why 587 is used instead. Re: [SOGo] Certificate validation failed
This is going to be a downer of a resolution, trees from the forest, but we dropped the tls for localhost. Spoke to the admin who set it up originally and they don't remember adding that/guess it came from a security update, and they didn't want a host name specified in the config. Re: [SOGo] Certificate validation failed
Hi Christian, I'll have to go back and look then, as I was told our recently purchased cert was a wildcard, and https:// on staff verifies this: *.prioritycolo.com Issued by: COMODO RSA Domain Validation Secure Server CA I take it updating the cert for apache doesn't mean that SOGO and sieve are happy? My only guess at the moment is that this cert wasn't updated? But that is also confusing as I was told this was working as it was (e.g. I didn't make any changes to the config), but can't verify. Just tested a bit and can confirm this is an issue, and i think the problem is that SOGo has no rules for charset windows-1256 like for others as seen here. https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo/blob/60247e83e7da798bb7292521694812a6ea12ff0f/UI/MailPartViewers/UIxMailPartHTMLViewer.m#L82-L85 My suggesting is that you add this '{ @"windows-1256", XML_CHAR_ENCODING_ERROR},' to UIxMailPartHTMLViewer.m between line 82/85 and compile SOGo to see if that helps, and report back. Now this just a suggestion not tested so can't say if it will work. The reason i think this is where the issue resides, is as you can see by the image, title is fine but body is not, and the body part of the mail "look like" it parses through that method. Re: [SOGo] dovecot-sogo3 and shared folders
Hi Frank, Well, I found some sample from openchange webpage. on the dovecot documentation they have some information too. I have to admit, that it's never easy to configure this kind of stuff. We are trying to get the contact creation from web UI to our LDAP server without success in 3 work days... For the mail sharing, we will have to enable it in dovecot # ACL and share folder acl = vfile acl_shared_dict = proxy::acl # By default Dovecot doesn't allow using the IMAP "anyone" or # "authenticated" identifier, because it would be an easy way to spam # other users in the system. If you wish to allow it, acl_anyone = allow namespace { type = shared separator = / prefix = Shared/%%u/ location = maildir:%%h:INDEXPVT=~/Shared/%%u # this namespace should handle its own subscriptions or not. subscriptions = no list = children } this should give you a small start on your shar folder. Since I have installed the SOGO completely indépendent of my AD (xenial), the openchange is not installed (for now). - Is it possible to use the openchange on a linux that is not a DC ? I have installed a zentyal community edition to use with openchange/sogo/activesync etc. I have almost all working on different platform. I can sync my calendar with my android/TB and outlook. I can sync all my mail with Android/TB and outlook. This is verry impressive. The problem is that in outlook i always get sync error that is growing in a folder call "Problème de synchronization" (sync problem). The INBOX look working correctly and I can send/receive mail without problem. I also see that I have many (Problème de synchronisation) with a number after. like (1), (3)(1) etc.. The message I received look like this 08:44:16 Synchronisateur Version 12.0.6672 08:44:16 Synchronisation de la boîte à lettres 'Jonathan Dumaresq' en cours 08:44:16 Synchronisation des modifications locales dans le dossier « Problèmes de synchronisation » en cours 08:44:16 Erreur lors de la synchronisation du dossier 08:44:16 [8004010F-501-8004010F-422] 08:44:16 Echec de l'opération du client. 08:44:16 Banque d'informations de Microsoft Exchange 08:44:16 Pour plus d'informations sur ce problème, cliquez sur l'URL ci-dessous : 08:44:16 http://www.microsoft.com/support/prodredirect/outlook2000_us.asp?err=8004010f-501-8004010f-422 08:44:16 Terminé This look like outlook can't sync (Problème de synchronisation) with the server. [SOGo] SOGo - Openchange issue
Hi Hope someone could assist me. I am interested in using SOGo as my email server, but have been experiencing some issues. I have been trying to install SOGo with OpenChange, as some of the users prefer to use Outlook 2010. So I have a CentOS 6.7 server, with epel repo and rpmforge, and have been following the installation guide on the website, and also the following guide which is for Ubuntu https://github.com/DigitalOcean-User-Projects/Articles-and-Tutorials/blob/master/sogo_an_MS_exchange_alt.md So, when I do yum install samba4, it only installs two packages, samba4 and samba4-common, so when you run samba-tool, you get a command not found. I eventually found out that you have to purchase it from sernet, which gives you all the dependencies to run samba-tool. I then added the SOGo repo and ran yum install sogo*, the install went perfect. Then the next step is to install OpenChange, I used the following instructions: http://www.openchange.org/download/el.html So when I ran yum install openchange sogo-openchange-backend openchange-ocsmanager openchange-rpcproxy I get openchange-ocsmanager openchange-rpcproxy packages does not exist. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I followed the instructions. To me it looks like it is a repo issue, yet I have given the exact repo that the webstie points me to. I would apriceate any advice anyone can give me. Re: [SOGo] External Account / Fetchmail
So, I think I am asking the same question, Basically If SOGO is not a complete mail server what is the best way to get a mailserver / sogo setup ? Zentyal looks like it uses openchange with sogo. But i might be reading it wrong Is that the best way ? is the best way to install ubuntu and then the SELINUX and iredmail or zentyal with sogo ? What is the smartest way ? Re: [SOGo] Training
No lies, 2 weeks ago I didn't know anything about postfix, cyrus, how to setup an ldap server, sasl or anything related to a 'business linux mail server'. and thanksfully, with alot of effort, I managed to learn about all of those modules and setup a working lab composed of postfix, cyrus-imap, ldap, sogo, sasl and some startls etc etc. I just finished making everything work with the thunderbird addon today and I must admit that I find this alternative very interesting so far !! :) Thanks alot for this :D to get back on the topic, I would admit that it is a little hard to find good information that looks like 'course' or good tutorial that really covers everything. I believe that this is simply because all those things are heavily configurable and most of the tutorial I saw lacked alot of information. Hell, just postfix in itself is a beast when it comes down to the amount of possible option settings there is! I personally chose self training, by reading alot of the original manual, mixed with a few trial errors from some tutorials, more reading! and well, make a lab with some vm (I use virtual box..) and fix some objective... Then in the process you might have a better idea of what kind of course you're looking for and might even find it yourself ;p hehe, well that was just my 2 cents. no need to flame me on that :D in the process of building sogo I figured out that there is so much différent things you can use... Just as an example, I found out that you have Directory389, slapd, apacheDS or even freeipa. Oh well, sorry for the lack of reference, and good luck :) Jonathan G. So in a nutshell, if I were to do some courses (online preferably) what is the recommendation? Also I just want to say brilliant venture, I love Linux so keep up the great work. Hello Steven, I have been following SOGo for several months now and played with the ZEG and tried to add SOGo to a Debian server. I think there is a long way to go with this before I can use it and I don't think it's a matter of training. I have used ClearOS 5.2 successfully for small businesses. With it's web interface it's very easy to get it to do all the things it's capable of such as file sharing, email and hosting the companies website. (I can't say the same about ClearOS 6) The 'Internet' defines lots of things for us, like how websites work, how email works and how DNS works. What it does not define is how address books work. All I want is a simple centralised database of email addresses that is shared by all email users in the company. Back in the 90's there was a fantastic thing called Lotus Notes which was the ultimate groupware. There are no open standards to let you create one in Linux. Whare are the IMAP and SMTP protocols for address books and calendars? I have no idea why people would create standards such as IMAP yet not carry on and create standards for address books. [SOGo] Accessing a remote SOGO/OpenChange server
Hi, I've had some trouble accessing a SOGO/OpenChange server on a distant network (public IP, no firewalling). From what I read in the Microsoft documentation, when Outlook Anywhere is not available or enabled, they suggest using a VPN to effectively have a remote lan link. The VPN route works very well, Outlook found the server right away and synced itself. Without a VPN, Outlook does not send a single packet to the OpenChange server. Is this expected behaviour ? Is there special DNS configuration required ? Is Outlook Anywhere absolutely necessary for this kind of setup ? -- Jonathan Bastien-Filiatrault Administrateur de système System Administrator T : 514-527-3232 x 209 F : 514-527-1201 jonathan.bastien-filiatra...@zerospam.ca
[SOGo] Using openchange with usernames that look like email addresses

I have set up OpenChange successfuly and it works fine when the usernames do not contain a @. Outlook seems to get confused when this is input as the full mailbox name ends up being something like u...@userdomain.com@openchangeserver.com. Given those facts, my questions are as follows: - Is this an Outlook/Exchange or an OpenChange limitation ? - Is there a special escape syntax for inputting emails as usernames in Outlook ? - Is there a way to provide a username mapping between the two systems (substituting @ for %, for example) ?
