That is right, but sogo repo has samba-libs for samba version 4 which
obsoletes CentOS 6 own samba4-libs and this will bring some dependency
problems (sogo repo uses libldb 1.1.17 for samba-libs but sssd needs
samba4-libs and this requires libldb 1.1.13).

I had simmilar problems and added samba-libs to my ignore list in
yum.conf file for the sogo server (where I do not need samba).

My solution was to simply uninstall sssd (and then samba-libs).
If you don't use Samba or LDAP at all, then you don't need sssd either.

I do need ldap (I use an IPA server) so that is not an option. But I can
live with my exclude list.

[SOGo] libldb version conflict on update

2014-11-28 Thread Martin (Lists)
Hallo

on my CentOS 6 box I got a version conflict on update:

Error: Package: sssd-common-1.11.6-30.el6.x86_64 (@base)
Requires: libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.13
Entfernen: libldb-1.1.13-3.el6.x86_64 (@base)
libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.13-3.el6
Updated By: libldb-1.1.17-1.centos6.x86_64 (sogo-rhel6)
libldb(x86-64) = 1.1.17-1.centos6

A few investigations later I found the samba-libs-4.1.11 package to be
the main problem (which needs libldb for dependency). This one tries to
update (via obsoletes) CentOS own samba4-libs package which is required
by sssd. As I do not use openconnect and therefore do not need samba4 it
would be greate if sogos samba-libs do not obsolete CentOS samba4-libs.

This would be quite an endeavor. First, SOGo would need to be modified
(storage + UI). Also, if notes were to be stored as VJOURNAL calendar
objects, the CalDAV code would need to be modified and thus, tons of
testing would need to be done with all the clients out there. Then,
Mozilla Lightning would need to be enhanced (to add notes capabilities)
and the native Outlook compatibility layer would need to store notes
differently (by reusing SOGo's objects, instead of its own).

That being said, it's not impossible nor ruled out but it's just a lot

You most likely read that in the native Outlook compatibility guide. You
only need Cyrus v2.4 if you plan to use it, because of the requirements
on the QRESYNC extension which is not found in v2.3 and below.

You probably added the directive to the wrong place, then? Forced

You could add some more prefs to get automatic updates and TB updates as
well (but most of them are the default anyways):
 || force_bool_pref(extensions.update.auto, true);
 || force_bool_pref(extensions.update.enabled, true);
 || force_bool_pref(app.update.silent, true);
 || force_bool_pref(app.update.enabled, true);
 || force_bool_pref(app.update.auto, true);
 || force_int_pref(app.update.mode, 1);

 Hope, this helps.

Thanks, this helped a lot but I still had the same not builtin
problem. After analysing the source code from thunderbird sources I
finally found two additional settings. now I have

force_bool_pref(app.update.cert.requireBuiltIn, false);
force_bool_pref(extensions.install.requireBuiltInCerts, false);
force_bool_pref(extensions.update.requireBuiltInCerts, false);

in my custom-preferences.js file (want to run it every thunderbird
start). the extension.update did not the trick, but extension.install
did. Now thunderbird 10esr is able to automatically update sogo and
lightning extensions from my private server.

Ah, and one more thing: intermediate(*) CAs need to be either in TB cert store
or in the cert chain the web server presents to the client...

(*) just in case you're using a root ca that issued a web server ca that
is used to sign server certificates. But if you're running your own pki
you most probably know what you're doing... ;-)

I don't know enough here. I have set up some ssl servers with my own CA
but as I use it for my family only I only use one root certificate. So
there is no chain involved. This is more a test and play environment.

We run our own PKI and use

in integrator to allow updates from our site.

Thanks, but still no success. I added this line to my 10.0.1 integrator

We, however, require our users to manually install our certificate

Yes, definitely. If it is only me, manual update and cert installation

 files are used.

In error console I get two warnings (may be one for each sogo plugin):

Warnung: WARN addons.xpi: Download failed: [Exception... Certificate
 issuer is not built-in. nsresult: 0x80004004 (NS_ERROR_ABORT)
 location: JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/CertUtils.jsm :: checkCert

 Quelldatei: resource://gre/modules/CertUtils.jsm
 Zeile: 165

I use https connection with self made certificates. root CA is imported
 into thunderbird.

Wat can I do to get updates working again?

Are you sure the CA certificate is in the CA store of thunderbird?
I ask, because Certificate issuer is not built-in. indicates it's not
 in there.

I am really sure about this. My CA certificate is listed in the
certificate store. I have enabled all three settings (Mail crypt and
software signing).

The difference is: most of the other certs have the crypt module builtin
and mine has the module software-security.

[SOGo] dead entries in calendar (from 1.3.10)

2011-12-13 Thread Martin (Lists)
Hallo

From several problems with 1.3.10 I have some dead entries in my
thunderbird calendar which persists after update to sogo frontent tools
version 108. They are not present in WEB view, so removing them in
thunderbird fails.

What is the recommended way to resync the calendar data from SOGo to
thunderbird (calendar and addressbook)?

You can simply close Thunderbird, remove the content of your
calendar-data from your Thunderbird profile and restart it. It'll pull
 back everything from the server.

OK, that did it. Is there no easy option (for simplicity and
inexperienced user)? And is there a similar way for the address book? I
once removed the abook files by accident and my address book was empty
after restart.

Hallo again

I nailed it down to the category (most likely). If none is used, the events
can be stored and altered. If one is used it is ignored (Web-GUI) or crashed
the sogo child by SIGABRT (thunderbird). Currently I can not use categories,
neither for recurring events nor for normal ones with SOGo 1.3.10.

Any one else seeing this?

[SOGo] recurring events has a 2 hour shift

2011-12-05 Thread Martin (Lists)
Hallo

I need some help: Since my upgrade to 1.3.10 I have a two hour shift for all
recurring events. It is visible in monthly, weekly and daily view. But If I
edit the event all dates and times are set correctly.

Example: In monthly view an event is displayed as 15:00 Sport but if I open
the event it starts at 17:00 (as it intend to start).

Single date events always show the right start time.

Hi Martin. I'm seeing the same thing too and opened a ticket in the bug

Ah, I am not the only one. The same is true for sogo-tools btw. I tried a

Yes, I have. I use the CalDAV and CardDAV module from android market for

[SOGo] Message in sogo log file with android CalDAV sync

2011-11-08 Thread Martin (Lists)
Hallo

I use CalDAV-Sync for android with success but on every request I got
the following line in the logs:

sogod[4167] -[WEClientCapabilities initWithRequest:]: Unknown WebClient:

It is working, so this is only an information but may be there can be
better handling if the client is known.

Is there something you can do about or shall I report this to the
CalDAV-Sync author?

If your account e-mail is imap, you can de-install TB7 and re-install TB
 3.1 without problem

But in Thunderbird there is more then only IMAP mail. There are
accounts, there are filters, there is learning data for spam, settings,

hours when you have much mail.

That's the reason that I am intereted if it is possible to uninstall TB7
(without removing it's configuration data and mail) and install TB3.1.

I did it with TB5 and TB6 (updated by accident) and hat no problems. But
I have no filters (they are server side) and no spam lerning data
(server side as well). All other data were used as before the update.

This remove sogo as well (dependency). After install sogo again I got

1.3.9-2 so they match the one from sogo package. sope-ial seems no

That's probably a sign of having old SOPE packages around after
proceeding with the SOGo update. Make sure you update all SOPE
packages to the latest version and restart the SOGo service after.

Ah, thanks

That did the trick. I had old sope file lying around. Sadly these were
not updated automatically by yum update (why?). I had to remove the
following packages by hand:
- sope49-gdl1-contentstore
- sope49-ical
- sope49-cards

This remove sogo as well (dependency). After install sogo again I got
new sope-card and sope-gdl1-contentstore files. Old versions were
1.3_20110726 (ical was even older: 4.9-20100721). new Versions are
1.3.9-2 so they match the one from sogo package. sope-ial seems no
longer be needed.

Once again, many thanks to you working at SOGo, it is a awesome piece
of software.

 Hello Martin

I've taken a look on it. But how do you handle ACL about domains?
For example they are two company's called foo and bar with the
domains foo.tld and bar.tld. The manager of company foo is allowed

him to create an address with @bar.tld. I didn't found a setting

As I only use one domain with GOSa I don't have the problem. But there

CardDAV is available for free (and as a paid version), CalDAV costs
2,55€ (for development support according to the developer). CardDAV can

To get SPNEGO working you have to set a couple of preferences in
 Firefox. See
 https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Integrated_Authentication for
details. And, yes, without the mail part, it isn't really that
useful unless you just need a calendar and address book.

The problem is: most of the Time I need address book and calendar only
(thunderbird), but every now and then I need the mail part as well.
And I don't want to install every part twice just to be able to login
with kerberos and without.

Sometimes I wonder that the user outside are not tired typing
different username/password combination all the time.

I use this just for my family and they want to type user name and
password only once. So I began to kerberize my environment but it is
harder than I thought (not technical wise, but from support in
different server/client software).

Unfortunately, the mail portion doesn't yet support true
  SSO Kerberos (http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1200), but
  only CAS and WebAuth.

So kerberos is not a solution currently. Are there any plans to
add kerberos based SSO for the mail part as well? I need to be
able to either use kerberos (where it is available) or a
  username/password pair to login.

Considering there has been no response to my bug report, I'd say not
in the immediate future. If I remember correctly, the current CAS
and WebAuth support was sponsored by a university. While those
offer great browser-SSO support, neither is a complete desktop
solution that you could integrate with say an Active Directory
login. At some point that might be really useful when the
OpenChange MAPI stuff is production ready.

So may be sometimes kerberos is supported. Lets wait and see.

depending on sasl packages you have to add sasl mech packages as well
(i.e. md5 ... see your package tool for search - for centos it is yum

So I am going in the right direction, but still cannot resolve my

Hallo

Currently (since I have installed the SOGo Connector) I can no longer
change entries in my calendar on the sogo server with thunderbird. I can
create and delete them, but not change. Entries in my local calender can
be changed without a problem.

SOGo Server Version 1.2.2
lightning (inverse edition) 0.10
inverse sogo connector 0.100
