[SOGo] About using "Show Time as Free"

2018-01-25 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

When adding an event in Sogo there is the option to set "Show Time as Free"

If I set this for an event I do not see any change in the event color
in the Sogo v2 UI, is this by design or a bug?

Also when looking at the event data, this info is not included:

BEGIN:VCALENDAR
PRODID:-//Inverse inc./SOGo 2.3.23//EN
VERSION:2.0
BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
TZID:Europe/Moscow
X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/Moscow

DTEND;TZID=Europe/Moscow:20180109T09
TRANSP:TRANSPARENT

I would like to use this free/busy information outside Sogo, but I
guess it is not possible to export it from Sogo events, or am I
missing something here?

You can use ActiveSync (Exchange) as mentioned before, or you can use
CalDAV / CardDAV: this can be done with Windows Phone 8.1 by
configuring an iCloud account which then allows configuring your own
CalDAV / CardDAV server to be used. Works for me.

Re: [SOGo] Windows phone and Active Sync

Did anyone get native ActiveSync support to work with WindowsPhone and SOGo?

I have a Lumia 900 (WP7) and it is not working. When I try to sync the

Windows Phone version does not support this server version.

In SOGo log all I see is:

With z-push setup the phone syncs ok. I've tried recreating the

Tips..? Anyone using Meego / SOGo / Caldav combination?

I have an N9 MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan (version PR1.3) as well and I just tried
adding the CalDAV account to sync with my sogo-2.0.4b-1.centos6.i686

Adding the calendar worked ok and I could get my Personal calendar events

from N9 Accounts and used the CalDAV URL reported by the SOGo Web UI for
my Personal Calendar.

Checking my logs I can see the same errors as you, though:

But as I can see my events and adding a new event works as well, I think
your problem lies somewhere else in your installation?

What have you set in your configuration for SOGoSupportedLanguages ?

My old friend stack smashing detected!
I've had this problem since 1.3.1, I put a nasty hack in my spec file to
 build NGCards with -fno-stack-protector:

I have now identified that the problem is with recurring events in
Outlook. If I remove the user's first recurring events in the Outlook
list view, remove the user with sogo-tool, syncing with Funambol works
ok with the exception that no recurring events are showed in the SOGo
web ui.

If I export the ics with the problematic events and try to import it
via SOGo web tool I get a stack smashing crash as well, but I manage
to get some events imported ok (as opposed nonfunctional events
resulting from the Funambol sync) although the upload window never
closes. No recurring events imported this way either.

The only way to get syncing or importing the events as ics file fully
work is to remove all recurring events from Outlook first.

I have now opened a bug report with example ics files:

[SOGo] removing user with sogo-tool and resyncing with funambol creates unusable calendar

2012-04-11 Thread Peter Peltonen
I have Funambol syncing working ok from Outlook to SOGo. My problem
is, that with the following steps I end up with an unreadable
calendar:

1. Delete an existing SOGo user that has been succesfully syncing
Outlook with Funambol:

[sogo@sogo ~]$ sogo-tool remove test...@testdomain.com

2. Login with test...@testdomain.com to SOGo web UI = an empty
calendar that works ok is showed

3. Manually sync calendar from Outlook with Funambol WIndows Sync
Client = No entries synced from Outlook, SOGo web calendar works
still ok

4. From Funambol WIndows Sync Client select Tools Recover
Replace all of the server data with local data and select Calendar
= The client sends all entries, but after this in SOGo web UI I do
not see anymore the red line indicating the current day and I do not
see any Outlook entries either. If I now try to create a new event it
is not showed in the SOGo web UI. If I subscribe to this calendar from
some other user's calendar it will make the calendar view blank
(empty, no entries) for this user unless I uncheck the Funambol synced
calendar. If I remove the calendar with sogo-tool it starts working
again ok (but is empty of course).

This is what I see in the log:

any pointers what data from which tables should I use to start all

No idea what it would need from SOGo, but if you are using a database

Yes, those calendars showing warnings are ones that I have synced with
Funambol. If I remember correctly, those that show the warnings in
Thunderbird were calendars that got also synced from Outlook. My
interpretation of the situation was that Outlook/Funambol transferred
some events that include XML that Thunderbird is having problems with.

If you are using LDAP (and have LDAP configuration in your

I encountered one more obstacle which was error in syncing and a Java

Ok, good to know.

 What happens ?
 Logfiles ?

Here is my first report of the problematic situation:
https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists/arc/users/2012-02/msg00073.html

Here are my notes of the steps I did while installing Funambol:
http://pastebin.com/aRzhyGWu

After that I've debugged my case a bit further:

* I can login with my SOGo account ok using the Funambol webdemo in
http://sogo.mydomain.tld:8080/webdemo/ and I can see the calendar
events created in Outlook there

-- I assume this means that Outlook is syncing to Funambol server ok,
so I assume that the problem is between the Funambol server and SOGo

* After enabling statement logging in PostgreSQL I can see that the
Funambol sync is causing SQL statements such as this to be run:

SELECT c_path4 FROM sogo_folder_info WHERE c_path2 =
'test...@mydomain.tld' AND c_folder_type = 'Appointment';

-- So Funambol should be able to access the SOGo database ok

* If I run the previous statement using the psql client I get a
sensibile answer in return:

--
 personal
(1 row)

* But I do not see any INSERT statements when syncing Outlook... I
think I should be seeing in the log something similar as with the SOGo
web ui when I create a new event:

INSERT INTO sogotesterik0046e9ed3a5_quick (c_partstates, c_orgmail,
c_uid, c_sequence, c_category, c_nextalarm, c_title, c_classification,
c_location, c_name, c_component, c_iscycle, c_enddate, c_priority,

Re: [SOGo] Which version of Funambol server to use

2012-02-07 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

2012/2/7 André Schild an...@schild.ws:
 So you mean:

Calendar entries from Sogo - Outlook work
Calendar entries from Outlook - Sogo don't work

No. The only thing that works is Outlook - Funambol as I can see the
Outlook items in Funambol webapp

But Funambol - SOGo does not work
And neither does SOGo - Funambol (and therefore Funambol - Outlook)

How does SOGo and Funambol compare what is new and neets to be synced?
Perhaps there is some time/date related setting wrong and therefore
nothing is synced between Funambol and SOGo? This would also explain
why I get no errors as in principal everything works.

Silly question: You have configured the funambol outlook connector to do a
 2way sync and not only server-client ?

Yes, as the items are synced from Outlook to Funambol.

Re: [SOGo] Which version of Funambol server to use

2012-02-07 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

2012/2/7 André Schild an...@schild.ws:
I think they should NOT show up in funambol webapp!

Usually this means that the SyncML clients are using some default sync
 source names,
and not the newly added ones.

When you did install the sogo connector in funambol server, you did create
 two
new sync urls. (Probably sogo-card and sogo-cal)

Lets get this straight: I need to use some other URL than
http://sogo.mysogodomain.tld:8080/funambol/ds for syncing the SOGo
items?

This is what I have configured for the sync client at the moment:

Location: http://sogo.mysogodomain.tld:8080/funambol/ds
Username: test...@mydomain.tld
Password:

And this is what I did with funamboladmin:

Modules sogo FunambolSOGoConnector SOGo SyncSource
# added sogo-cal, sogo-todo, sogo-event and sogo-card like this:
Source URI: sogo-card
Name: sogo-card
Supported type: text/x-vcard
Database URL: jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1/sogo
Database username: sogo
Database password: sogo

But in Windows Sync Client under Account I can configure only one
Location, so if every resource (calendar, contacts) need a different
URL, it is not possible to configure them?

Hmm, now looking at Windows Sync Client settings, I see that there is
also for each item an Advanced setting, for example for Calendar there
is :

Advanced
Remote name: event
Data format: vCalendar

Should this be sogo-event instead?

BTW what is the difference between sogo-event and sogo-cal? As there
was a synsource type for both I created both but which one actually is
handling the calendar events? And is todo same as task in the
calendar?

Best,
Peter

You must now also tell the syncml clients to use these sync URL's

The funambol clients per default use standard names like card / cal / todo
 etc.
And these are preconfigured in the funambol server to have a backend in the
 db of the server.

 So either:

 - Change the clients to use the sogo-xxx url's
 - Or remove the default sync sources in funambol and then add them with the
 sogo backend.

[SOGo] funambol not syncing from outlook but gives no errors

2012-02-05 Thread Peter Peltonen
I am trying to get Outlook - Funambol -SOGo sync working with the
following software installed in CentOS6:

sogo-1.3.11-1 installed with yum
funambol-8.5.2 server + funambol-sogo-1.0.8 module
Outlook 2010 + Funambol Windows Sync Client 10.1.6

For SOGo I am using PostgreSQL (no LDAP) and authenticating to
multiple domains with email addresses. SOGo web UI logins work fine
with the account test...@mydomain.tld

AFAIK I've installed the server part as instructed by the official
documentation by Inverse: added the module, configured SOGo SyncSource
in the admin tool and enabled the use of Inverse's SOGoOfficer setup.

In the Windows Sync Client I speficied the following configuration parameters:

Server
Location: http://sogo.mysogodomain.tld:8080/funambol/ds
Username: test...@mydomain.tld
Password:

I've selected Calendars and Tasks to be synced and havent't checked
Enable Encryption

The problem is: when I click in the Sync window the Calendar button
after adding an event in Outlook everything seems to go fine as the
Sync Client is sending one event and and shows a green sign after
syncing. But after reloading the calendar I see no new entries in my
SOGo web UI calendar and now events/tasks have been synced from SOGo
to Outlook.

If I go to the Server Location with my browser I get the greeting:
Funambol Data Synchronization Server v.8.5.2

I do not see any connection attemps in /var/log/sogo/sogo.log while
syncing. But I guess that is expected, as Funambol should access the
SOGo database directly, right?

The Windows Sync Client Log says:

This was what I was missing: After clicking Sharing and seeing the

[SOGo] Understanding how calendar sharing works

2012-02-04 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

I want to be enable to create a task or an event in my coworker's SOGo
calendar for him, but I dont't seem to find the correct way to do
this.

I tried the following in the Web UI:

1) In the Web UI's Calendars tab I chose Subscribe to a calendar
and chose the coworker's Personal calendar. It appeared under the
Calendars in my Calendar view.

2) I tried creating a new event in the Web UI but the only calendar
available for this event was my own...

I therefore assume the calendar's default mode is read-only. How do I
change this? In the SOGo FAQ it reads: You can also allow others to
create and delete calendar objects in your calendars, so it should be
possible, but I cannot find instructions how to achieve this?

I also tried it in Lightning:

1) Added my coworker's calendar in Lightning

2) Tried creating a new event in his calendar. This resulted in the error:

Error_code: MODIFICATION_FAILED

Description: Status Code: 403, The user lacks the required permission
to perform the request.

[SOGo] problem with multiple imap servers: how to debug authentication?

2012-02-02 Thread Peter Peltonen
I am using MySQL based authentication and my setup works fine if all
domains are using the same IMAP/MySQL server. When I add a new
IMAP/MySQL combo to my setup, authentication to the new domain does
not work from SOGo web UI. The old domains work fine. All I get in the
SOGo log is:

Feb 02 12:49:56 sogod [28918]: SOGoRootPage Login for user

I do not see any marks of a connection attempt in the new IMAP
server's (Dovecot) log.

How to debug this further?

In GNUstepDefaults config for the domain that works (old server looks)
likes this:

keyolddomain.tld/key

keySOGoMailDomain/key

And the new domain that does not work:

Both MySQL setups have the correct views created and I can connect to
both MySQL servers from the sogo server just fine.

keyid/key
stringdirectory/string
keyisAddressBook/key

stringcrypt/string
keyviewURL/key

stringmysql://sogo:pass@192.168.0.10:3306/vpopmail/sogo_domain2/string
/dict
/array
/dict

After doing my changes in the config files I've restarted both sogod
and memcached so Sogo should have the correct config at least.

But I cannot login to domain2.net when using the SOGo web UI.

From the MySQL query log I can see that the query is ran on against
the wrong view (sogo and not sogo_domain2):

SELECT c_password FROM sogo WHERE c_uid = 'pe...@domain2.net'

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I think there isn't a way to create this kind of view in the SOGo

Does someone know a web client that could be used as a frontend for
SOGo and could show this kind if view?

So... Is this a bug in the updated package or have I somehow managed

Maybe I should remove the packages and start all over again?

Adjust your SOGo.conf Apache configuration file accordingly.

Thanks for the tip: I found out that the yum update had created a
.rpmnew file for the Apache config. Using that file as the template
for my own configuration I was able to get the SOGo web UI working and

[SOGo] PostgreSQL gotchas

2011-10-30 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

For other people trying to install SOGo using PostgreSQL
authentication on CentOS6 here are a few gotchas I encountered:

1) By default PostgreSQL is not accepting TCP/IP connections. You can
enable this by adding

PGOPTS=-i

to /etc/sysconfig/pgsql/postgresql and restarting the postgresql service

2) If you are running PostgreSQL on localhost using IPv4, use IP
address 127.0.0.1 and not name localhost in .GNUstepDefaults
configuration, as localhost is interpreted as an IPv6 address for
the PostgreSQL URLs. The other option could be to allow IPv6
connections in pg_hba.conf by specifying:

host sogo sogo ::1/128 md5

Hope this helps others trying to setup SOGo with PostgreSQL.

Cheers,
Peter

Re: [SOGo] Newbie questions about SQL authentication

Hi,

2011/10/17 André Schild an...@schild.ws:
Well Mysql has SSL capabilities. I don't know if the SOPE/SOGo client
 supports them however.
Alternatively, a SSH port forward is always a good option. especially if
it is just for testing. Quick and easy.

This will forward the local 'mysql' port to 'remote.host' (man ssh for
 option info):
 ssh -TNf -L 3306:127.0.0.1:3306 u...@remote.host

Just a normal plain ipsec (or openvpn) tunnel is most of the time the best
 solution.
They are very well tested and you can tunnel many things trough them.

Thanks for the tips! I should have thought about ssh port forwarding myself.

If I need a more permanent remote solution I will check MySQL SSL
support and VPN possibilities.

You don't have to manage two user databases. I created a view (called

But what if my IMAP user database is located in another server in

[root@sogo ~]# rpm -qa |grep memcached

Yes, install the one coming from the SOGo repo - libmemcached-0.49.

It appears that using yum priorities is keeping the new memcached
package being installed.

If I give the sogo repo the same priority (=1) as base and updates, I
