[SOGo] Account mixup in SOGo Calendar when accessing via Apple Calendar
Hi Folks, I meanwhile investigated further and found out that the Organizer name and e-mail-address is taken from the first alias I am member of (in alphabetic order). Since an alias may contain several e-mail-addesses the person of the organiser varies - see „ORGANZIZER“ entry below; by accident it can be me as well. A resulting insert statement into the sogo_store table looks like the following: — cut here — INSERT INTO sogo_store (c_content, c_folder_id, c_version, c_lastmodified, c_name, c_creationdate) VALUES ('BEGIN:VCALENDAR^M PRODID:-//Apple Inc.//macOS 14.4.1//EN^M VERSION:2.0^M CALSCALE:GREGORIAN^M BEGIN:VTIMEZONE^M TZID:Europe/Berlin^M BEGIN:DAYLIGHT^M DTSTART:19810329T02^M RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=3;BYDAY=-1SU^M TZNAME:MESZ^M TZOFFSETFROM:+0100^M TZOFFSETTO:+0200^M END:DAYLIGHT^M BEGIN:STANDARD^M DTSTART:19961027T03^M RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=10;BYDAY=-1SU^M TZNAME:MEZ^M TZOFFSETFROM:+0200^M TZOFFSETTO:+0100^M END:STANDARD^M END:VTIMEZONE^M BEGIN:VEVENT^M CREATED:20240415T162700Z^M DTEND;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20240416T14^M DTSTAMP:20240415T162701Z^M DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20240416T13^M LAST-MODIFIED:20240415T162700Z^M SEQUENCE:0^M SUMMARY:Dienstagstermin 1^M TRANSP:OPAQUE^M UID:056A6B0C-8C79-420D-B2BF-A33B29AB288F^M X-APPLE-CREATOR-IDENTITY:com.apple.calendar^M X-APPLE-CREATOR-TEAM-IDENTITY:00^M BEGIN:VALARM^M ACTION:NONE^M TRIGGER;VALUE=DATE-TIME:19760401T005545Z^M END:VALARM^M ATTENDEE;EMAIL=attendee@another_domain.tld;PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION;CN=Attendee Name;^M RSVP=TRUE;CUTYPE=INDIVIDUAL:mailto:attendee@aonther_domain.tld^M ORGANIZER;CN=Wrong Name;EMAIL=first_alias@my_domain.tld:mailto:wrong_name@my_domain.tld^M CLASS:PUBLIC^M END:VEVENT^M END:VCALENDAR', 15, 0, 1713198421, ‚.ics', 1713198421); — cut here — I already cleared and rebuilt the cache of the Mac-Calendar, temporarily deleted the respective alias - in this case another alias is taken, where I am member of. [SOGo] Account mixup in SOGo Calendar when accessing via Apple Calendar
Dears, We recently migrated from Kerio Connect to dockerized MailCow (release 2024-04) / SOGo (version 5.10.0) are very happy with it in general, but, face one serious issue when creating invitations from our Apple Calendar. The client integration is configured by installing the respective profile (IMAP, SMTP, Cal/CardDAV with App-Password). Everything works fine (mail and address book in total, accessing / updating the calendar, calendar subscriptions / delegation etc.) except when I create an invitation with other persons: The organizator is chosen randomly and the availability does not correspond to the invited either. The invitation is not sent to the invited as well. When I then open the Calendar entry in SOGo web interface for editing and save it without any change, the invitation is sent out and at least the correct organizator (me) shows up, the availability neither mine nor of the invited still does not match. Any hint to tackle down the issue will be gently appreciated. Best, Andreas
[SOGo] Migrating database backend
Hi, I'd like to move the sogo database backend from mysql over to postgresql, as sogo is the last application in our systems still using mysql and we don't want to run two different database servers. Now in the past it was recommended to use sogo-tool backup/sogo-tool restore for that job. Is this still the current recommendation? Also, what exactly is being copied over? We'd like to prevent any quirks to be copied over that may have accumulated over the many years - we originally started out with Sogo 2.x or something like that - that may not cause issues now but could potentially cause some in the future. Best, Richard

Individually, every person is able to use the calendar to schedule events, however, time and again we are unable to see each other’s events, randomly. We have played with permissions, changing default visibility etc. but this has not helped. Does this mean, you have set visibility for "private" events in the sharing settings? Beware: Changing default settings in sogo.conf will only change those for new calendars. Existing calendars are not changed. Therfore you have to set those changes on existing calendars by hand via SOGoSuperUser or via script on the server. We are able to create events from within Sogo (or caldav for outlook) and people (both on our mail server and external) receive the invitations. It’s mostly just the question of visibility of the calendar across accounts on our mail server. In addition to SOGo we use the “CalDav synchronizer” in outlook and we use cal.com to do automatic event scheduling (the only such software we have found that we can use for others to schedule meetings with us). The problem occurs when we add our other accounts to meetings through cal.com. The events are landing on the calendar and ignore the default events classification (set through SOGo) and go straight to private. When a meeting is selected on the calendar is set to public and the invitation is accepted, the meeting may show the new adjustments, but then revert back to private and unaccepted (events disappear when looking at other account’s calendars). This issue is inconsistent and seems to affect random meetings after marking public and accepting a batch of meetings. We cannot figure out why the settings save on some meetings where others do not save properly. I do not know cal.com!! Therefore I only can guess, that it synchronizes events with SOGo per calDAV. As it is the leading system for those events, it will always reset all event parameters to its local settings, ignoring, what you set in SOGo for it. I also guess, that it only will check and synchronize events in the future. Therefore not resetting events from the past? RE: [SOGo] settings pane empty when switching to zh_cn or ar
Hello, So, it was some translated string that caused that. The strings are converted in an array using the comma delimiter... In those two languages the comma was not the usual ones but the 'FULLWIDTH COMMA' (U+FF0C) or 'ARABIC COMMA' (U+060C) causing this "array" to have just one item instead of the nine expected, causing this empty pane. I've made a quick fix on transifex for those particular strings so with the next nightly you should see the settings pane. But I agree there is better things to do against that :/ Quentin -Original Message- From: users-requ...@sogo.nu On Behalf Of Marco Moock Sent: jeudi 14 mars 2024 10:13 To: users@sogo.nu Subject: [SOGo] settings pane empty when switching to zh_cn or ar Hello! SOGo is not an MTA. It is a webfrontend for email servers (aka email client), with its own calendar and contacs in a database. As long as you have access for your users per IMAP and submission, you can use whatever email server you like beneath SOGo. This is also true for its ActiveSync component. SOGo ist not an MTA. You need to install an MTA like sendmail to receive mail from the outside. You also need an IMAP server to store those mails. SOGo will simply access that IMAP server. -- Gruß Marco Send spam to 1710145197mu...@cartoonies.org

I replayed command history - upgrade command from 5.9.0 to 5.9.1 was ‘apt-get install sogo sogo-activesync sope4.9-gdl1-postgresql sope4.9-libxmlsaxdriver’ So, It’s my mistake, not a bug - I simple type ‘apt-get install SOGo’ Ср, 28 февр. 2024 г. в 16:20, smizr...@alinto.eu : > Hi Pavel, > > Can you please open a ticket on bugs.sogo.nu ? All it requires is AUTHentication so as to display emails and also to be able to send emails. If for once you'd stop focusing on iRedmail and just start with looking at what SOGo is meant to do, you'd get the concept clearly. That information is here: https://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html As it is, you can already install SOGo only on a VM and test it with your existing server - testing only with your account until you're satisfied. Your existing server just needs to be configured to relay when ASMTP succeeds. Simple. Other than that, it needs to allow IMAP4 access from remote. That's as easy as opening port 143 on the firewall for a particular IP address. Iredmail depends on SOGo for the webUI/Groupware. SOGo does not need iRedmail. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254 7 3200 0004/+254 7 2274 3223 In an Internet failure case, the #1 suspect is a constant: DNS. Re: [SOGo] Domain Address Book doesn't show entries
Dear Pavel, I apologize this was a confusion on my side, you're right, in the nightly 5.10.0.20240227 you have to use listRequiresDot = NO as in 5.9.1.
