That's not a general CardDAV issue. There is only limited support for
MacOS / iOS clients. Only the personal addressbook seems to work as far as
I remember. We also had an issue open regarding this topic, the limitations
seems to be on Apples side. Unfurtunately I can't give you any official
source for this since we only got the feedback within the paid support
issue tracker. Francis Lachapelle might elaborate on this.

[SOGo] Access to GAL from Apple devices via CardDAV
Good day. I'm trying to set up CardDAV in email clients, primarily for MacOS and iOS. Moreover, the personal address book and the collected addresses are successfully loaded on iOS, but the GAL is displayed empty. Only a personal book is loaded onto the macos and nothing more. Although in the web interface everything is displayed ok. The only client on which it was possible to correctly display the structure of address books is the eM client under Windows.
