Re: [SOGo] Feature Request: Calendar attachments (EAS v16 capability)
Hello Some users would use a bomb to clear out weed. That is no reason to provide them with one ;-) What you really want is a way to provide some webDAV based storage, where attachment files would automatically be stored, when added via SOGo events. And it would have to use the calendar owners credentials for storage, and set the privileges for the people with read/write permissions automatically. It would have to be configurable by the admin (can be disabled, set to single storage or set to storage based on LDAP attribute). With that you would only have a link in the event and the user thinks, he has it added to the event. BTW: This could also be used for emails. But most mail clients would not support sending that way. You can always open a feature request at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs or add yourself to an existing one. Re: [SOGo] Feature Request
Letting a user upload their own profile picture, resize it, crop it, and save it, from inside SOGo, would be great. Gravatar doesn't work for the EU, the privacy laws in the EU ban Gravatar because Gravatar logs user IP, email and geographical location, which isn't allowed by EU internet privacy regulations, so a feature to allow you to disable Gravatar had to be added to SOGo, see here: https://sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=3600 SOGo should probably save the user photo to the LDAP directory, or Active Directory, in the attributes "jpegPhoto" and "thumbnailPhoto". Here's a PERL script to let you save your own JPEG photo to your user entry in LDAP. http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/GBARR/perl-ldap-0.39/contrib/jpegLoad.pl It's available in the PERL package "perl-jpeg", install it by doing: # cpan install /perl-jpeg/ Leaving it as an exercise to connect "jpegLoad.pl" to SOGo for the purpose of letting users upload their own profile picture. More information: * jpegPhoto: "This attribute is used to store one or more images of a person using the JPEG File Interchange Format" - no maximum size, yet probably SOGo should reduce size until less than 100KB. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc221100.aspx * thumbnailPhoto: "Picture" - maximum size 102400. Attribute field is created when Exchange is installed to the domain, or schema for ActiveDirectory is updated to 2008 R2. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc221395.aspx On 2/15/2017 3:07 PM, "Ivan Gonzalez" (iva...@nocroom.com) wrote: Correct, not many users use it would be nice to see option to upload your own Ivan Gonzalez Jr. x101 NocRoom | ceo | e: iva...@nocroom.com w: NocRoom.com West Coast/Las Vegas 702-789-0409 | East Coast/Miami 786-802-7666 [ social tw | fb | in | g+ ] Turnkey Solution | Virtualization Kings – Dedicated Servers – Cloud Email Servers – Cloud PBX Hosted Systems - Bitcoin ok All emails from NocRoom.com are encrypted IMPORTANT: This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. [SOGo] Feature request: Precedence header for Notification emails
This is a feature request (maybe a bug fix depending on how you look at it), to improve the Notifications. In Google's Bulk Senders Guidelines, they mention: "Messages should indicate that they are bulk mail, using the 'Precedence: bulk' header field." https://support.google.com/mail/answer/81126?hl=en This triggers Google's Smart Labels feature to label the messages as bulk. Because SOGo currently fails to label bulk emails with this header, it's more likely that Google will send SOGo's Notification messages to the recipient's Spam folder. The solution: You need to add a new field in the Notification messages headers: Precedence: bulk Reference: RFC3834, http://tools.ietf.org/search/rfc3834 -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

Short answer: The uniform appearance is a matter of Corporate Identity, which is very important for many companies. And it simplifies admins job, too. Some companies even use mail signatures for advertisement or announcements (e.g. new products, exhibitions, ...). [SOGo] Feature request: central signature distribution
Hi, I'd like to discuss a feature request regarding a central mail-signature distribution for SOGo web interface, Thunderbird (with SOGo Integrator) and Outlook. Some people may ask, why would you do that? Short answer: The uniform appearance is a matter of Corporate Identity, which is very important for many companies. And it simplifies admins job, too. Some companies even use mail signatures for advertisement or announcements (e.g. new products, exhibitions, ...). In many countries companies are forced by law that their e-mails and their business letters contain legal information about the company like CEO, members of the board, address, tax-ID, Commercial Register Number, legal entity number and so on. Therefore a central management is necessary. And for Inverse, it's an sales argument. To explain how this could work, let me introduce the discontinued freeware Outlook Signature: Outlook Signature is an Windows executable which is executed by the user-logon-script. It takes templates, fills in custom user data (name, phone nr., mail address, job title, ...) and places the signature files in the appropriate location where Outlook expects them. Even if the user is allowed to change the signatures, they will get overwritten by the logon script at next boot. Feature list: Generate any number of signatures based on custom templates (HTM, RTF and TXT), Use of data from any database source, Using data from the Active Directory in a Windows Server environment (+ LDAP), Automatic distribution of all signature files, Automatic setting of Outlook signature options, Set different signatures for new messages and for replies, Support for Outlook 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, Automatic detection of the version of Outlook, Central configuration via INI file (s), Debug mode Old Website: German (from Internet Archive): https://web.archive.org/web/20130224064509/http://zerbit.de/projekte/outlooksignature.aspx Google Translate English (from Internet Archive): http://translate.google.de/translate?hl=desl=detl=enu=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.archive.org%2Fweb%2F20130224064509%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fzerbit.de%2Fprojekte%2Foutlooksignature.aspx The download is still available from the Internet Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20130224064509/http://zerbit.de/download/outlooksignature1902.zip --- For SOGo this could be designed as follows: An SOGo administrator creates signature templates (HTM, RTF and TXT) and saves them preferably to a database. SOGo server provides a service where Thunderbird Integrator and an possible executable like Outlook Signature gets the updated signatures. This service should fill in the data from the databases into the templates - server side! Therefore the user source database should get extended. Maybe there could be a additional possibility that an user can edit specific data fields for his signature in the Web Interface and Thunderbird Integrator - controlled by ACLs. Or a mechanism where a user can make an direct request (not by e-mail) to the admin to change specific fields like job title or phone number. Currently we are using different signatures for people with and without mobile phone numbers. The sales people also use different signatures. [SOGo] Feature Request
The documentation says SOGoLoginDomains parameter used to define which domains should be selectable from the login page. This parameter is an array of keys from the domains dictionary. In a situation of single or even multiple domains, I'd love to have a user only input their username and then select the domain. Sogo should then concat username and domain in the form username@domain and present this to the IMAP server as the uid for login. I run a system of virtual domains where users are required to login with username@domain. At the moment, even if I enable SOGoLoginDomains, I still have to enter the whole username@domain on the webUI in order to login. This makes the domain selection useless. Unless I am missing a config for SOGo to achieve the above, I'd love to get the feature. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler. -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

Okay, sorry about my feature request. The solution is already there. For people using mysql authentication the solution from Francis works. I did not try it because I thought it only works in multi domain mode, but I added it and now only the users of teh same domain show up. Thanks for the tip Francis. If I every try the LDAP auhtentication I will try youy solution Nathanael. Re: [SOGo] Feature request.
Hi Hans, We're doing something like this with our SOGo implementation using LDAP permissions, to let us auto-provision new domains in SOGo Our openldap is set up so users can only see objects within their own domain's OU (so something like DC=com,DC=example,OU=whateverclientdomain.com,...) , and we use the bindAsCurrentUser setting on the LDAP authentication source to ensure that SOGo searches the ldap directory using the currently logged in user credentials (whereas by default, it uses global credentials). So users only see what they have permissions to see, and the permissions masks mean they can only see their own domain :) It works pretty well. Occassionally regressions creep in with new releases, but the Inverse team are brilliant about fixing them :) It also means that users see the exact same results when looking at the address book with LDAP directly (most desktop mail clients) vs with SOGo/Thunderbird Of course if you're using an SQL auth source this doesn't really help you :) Thanks, -Nathanael Bettridge Hans de Groot wrote: Hi, I have a feature request. [SOGo] Feature Request to omit UID@SOGoMailDomain as calendar-user-address-set?
Would it be a big task to insert a configurable option to hide UIDFieldName@SOGoMailDomain in the calendar-user-address-set? In my account case, the PROPFIND results in the following: a:calendar-user-address-set D:href xmlns:D=DAV:mailto:pascal.gien...@uni-konstanz.de/D:href D:href xmlns:D=DAV:mailto:p3749...@uni-konstanz.de/D:href /a:calendar-user-address-set p3749640 is our internal user id which gets never to the outside, our IMAP boxes have also this name. It is the uid field in LDAP and with this unique id the database tables get populated by SOGo. That's good. SOGo seems to give away p3749...@uni-konstanz.de also as calendar user name, but this address will not be usable from the outside. Apple iCal does use this address (I don't know why) as its internal user name after creating the account and it won't recognize that pascal.gien...@uni-konstanz.de is the same as p3749...@uni-konstanz.de. This is very confusing and appalling. The easiest reason would be to only issue the mail address as calendar-user-address-set, configurable by a Yes/No-Option. [SOGo] Feature request - Adress book improovements
Hello all, First of all sorry if this is not the right place for feature requests, please redirect me in the good way. I'm very interested in SOGO and tried yesterday the online demo. One thing I would need and that doesn't appear to exist (at least in the demo setup) is link between address book cards. Maybe it's clearer with an example: 1) Go to address book 2) Make a diffusion list 3) Put some people in there 4) Save the list 5) Go to the individual card of someone in the list 6) Change his mail address, save 7) The address won't change from the diffusion list. The behaviour is that the address is copied at the moment of the list creation. You surely have reasons to do that way, but in production use I can imagine the mess of address books. People have many contacts, some of them change addresses quite often. To have many copies of the address and have to change all of them manually isn't the good way, in my opinion. It would be better to have one entry and that other ones be pointers/alias to this one. This behaviour would be suitable to different address books too, in my opinion. It would be better to have groups than address books. People should still have the choice to duplicate cards, but in the goal to make some changes. To have man times the same card in different address books doesn't make any sens for me. What surprises me is that most of programs I've tried have this duplication behaviour. For me, it's like developers never used their programs to do many lists of contacts. If you are interested in a good example, look at the Mac OS X address book. This, is for me a good implementation. Well, sorry to be critic against SOGO in my first mail. The whole project seams very interesting. I can't forget to thank the developers to make this open source and freeware. I know that such a development take a lot of time. Please don't take this message as a your dev suck but as a hey guys, your dev could be even better if Best regards, Vitorio -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
