I send you this off-list, as I don't want to comment in public on your
message.
As much as I appreciate Alinto being at CloudFest, it is a completely
different kind of event for a different kind of audience then the open
source event I was querying about.
Where Fosdem does not allow commercial activities, this is what
CloudFest is focusing on. I would think the first one is more
appropriate to grow the community, whereas the other is more to interact
with (potential) customers.
Personally I do not feel very comfortable at an event like CloudFest.
The most important reason for me to attend Fosdem is that it a free
event where I can meet people from the community in person, i.e. the
social aspect which is always missing in the year-round online
communications.
Hopefully you would be able to attend both events next year, so that we
can meet, have a chat and drink a beer :-)
