Out of curiosity, what happen if you switch from FORM based loging to
BASIC login (using http auth).
I bet IE is getting mislead by the redirect that occurs from login form.

I'm trying to allow my users to download a password protected zip file
from a link in an email but I keep being told the zip file is corrupt
when I do even though I know it's not.
It's using standard tomcat form authentication, if you go to the front
page of the site and login normally and
