We have a JSF based application, and we upgraded tomcat to 7.0.72
Since then , several hours after the tomcat starts we receive JSF Exceptions
when just trying to open JSF based pages that worked fine before
If we clean all Generated Servlet pages it goes away again for a couple of
hours.
I have simple and standard MyFaces app. deployed, that worked successfully on
6.0.18 tomcat on the same OS(Ubuntu kernel 2.6.31-20-generic, i686).
After deploy on 6.0.26 it stops to work correctly.

Check your server.xml - this should be in it - if not - then you will
(sometimes) get the error as described below:

of servlets, as well as the most recent version of Java
J2EE and Tomcat doesn't appear to support that. I'm running Netbeans
5.5rc2 with Java 1.5 and the 5.0 release of Tomcat.
So my first question for this list is simply - does Tomcat support JSF

you need to install jsf and jstl refrence files reference files.
When downloaded place these in your common\lib directory.
Here are the 8 you need from these the reference directories

Hello,
I have just started using Tomcat for developing JSF apps. I've
started by making some JSP pages to get the hang of that. And all was great
until I switched over to JSF (MyFaces). First of all the server has a bit of
a problem with new files added in the webapps directory. Alot
to the
ubuntu guys so if anybody has or had this problem please let me know.
thank you
