Have you tried being less than class specific in your log level assignment? Instead of org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean.level = WARNING org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory.level = WARNING org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.level = WARNING try org.springframework.beans.factory.level=WARNING of course that may not be desired, but worth a shot. If that has no affect, try moving those three class level assignments or single package log level assignment to right after this line java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter Just things I would try.
