RE: Tomcat thread dump: unable to open the event mutex

2007-06-18 Thread Henrik.Nyberg
Ok, thanks for your reply.

Yes, I did log on to the server using remote desktop. This is
unfortunately the only way I can can access our production servers. If
remote desktop is the problem I really hope that the Tomcat people can
get the thread dump feature working over a remote desktop connection
too. To be able to thread dump when the server is using unusually many
threads is an extremely helpful feature in understanding complex
application problems which may occur only in production environments.

Not sure if this pertains to your environment but I have experience this
when I try to get a thread dump (of a 5.5.23 on Win2003 Server) and I am
logged into the server over an RDP (Remote Desktop) connection. I find
it works when I am at the console.

file specified. Unable to open the Event Mutex.

My question is: what configuration needs to be done to get the Thread

I have seen other odditites when using RDP. Something that often works
around them is to start the RDP client with the /console switch.

Yes! Thankyou very much!

When using /console the Thread Dump nicely dumped all threads into
jakarta_service.log ;-)
