thanks Romain, that works 1. wouldn't both units need buildschema if you wanted to build them automatically?  or is it only necessary to declare on one?  if so shouldn't it be a child of persistence not persistence-unit? 2. i never defined non jta before.  why do you need a jta and non jta?
