wicketstuff datatabes /jQuery Datatables

2018-05-31 Thread trlt
Hi,

I'm using DemoDatatable in wicketstuff package to develop a table with fair
amount of data (>= 10,000 rows) to display. Can anyone point me to the
right direction as how to implement this with server side processing? I've
already implemented a SortableDataProvider, but I am not too sure how to
invoke it in my program.

Thanks Sven!

Your fix works, but had I used wicket 7 sooner, I would not have encountered
the problem I was having.

Thanks again!

StatelessAjaxFallbackLink questions

2018-05-26 Thread trlt
I have a very simple program: list of links which prints a message when the
selected link is clicked. It works fine when I use AjaxLink or
StatelessLink, but I am having issues when I changed it to
StatelessAjaxFallbackLink (from wicketstuff-stateless package). Instead of
printing that's selected, it prints the list of all the links when the FIRST
link is selected. It works as expected for other links:

ListView links = new ListView("links", LIST) {

@Override
protected void populateItem(final ListItem item) {
final Label linkLabel = new Label("linkLabel",
new
Model(item.getDefaultModelObjectAsString()));

StatelessAjaxFallbackLink link = new
StatelessAjaxFallbackLink("link") {

@Override
public void onClick(AjaxRequestTarget
target) {
System.out.println("selected: "
+
linkLabel.getDefaultModelObjectAsString());
}
};
item.add(link.add(linkLabel));
}
};
add(links);

Wicket upgrade suggestion

2018-03-05 Thread trlt
Hi,

I'm currently running wicket 1.5, and would like to upgrade to wicket 7. Any
suggestion which route I should go:

wicket 1.5 -> wicket 6 -> wicket 7

OR

wicket 1.5 -> wicket 7?

Re: Wicket 1.5 PageExpiredException

2017-09-24 Thread trlt
The wicket applications are authenticated using Single Sign On (so yes, there
are other cookies set by the SSO group). The Bookmarkable links seem to be
working fine, but all other links become expired. Again, the only way to get
out is to clear the browser's cache. This problem happens intermittently and
only happens to a handle of users which makes the debugging harder.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Wicket 1.5 PageExpiredException

2017-09-22 Thread trlt
Apache + Tomcat. No load balancer. In general, I guess I have to understand
how pages are re-created once expired. The problem seems to be specific to
the cache in user's browser as I don't have problem when accessing the same
pages. Why did clearing the browser's cache fix the problem?

Wicket 1.5 PageExpiredException

2017-09-22 Thread trlt
I have a set of applications written in wicket (1.5.10) that have been
running for 5+ years
without any issues, but recently I've encountered some problems that I've
never seen before:

This problem has to do with PageExpiredException. In the past, the user hit
a page,
got a "Page Expired" error. My program redirects them to a bookmarkable
page, and off they go.
However, I noticed this week when this happens, some users get into the
infinite loop of "Page Expired"
errors. All the links they access (bookmarkable or non-bookmarkable), they
all throw "PageExpiredException" error.

When users complain, I can often access those pages without any issues. This
makes it hard for me to
debug. The only way for the users to get out of the loop is by clearing
their browser's cache (even the
logout link becomes stale at this point).

Nothing has changed in my session implementation so I'm a bit puzzled by
this. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

textfield focus not working on FF

2017-06-13 Thread trlt
Hi,

I have a form with 2 textfields (field1, field2). I want to be able to set
the focus on field1 again when user finishes entering data in field2. The
code works fine on Chrome, but it doesn't work on FF (i.e. the focus on
field1 is not set). I've included the sample source code below:

Form form = new Form("form");
form.setDefaultModel(new CompoundPropertyModel(formModel = new
HashMap()));
add(form);

final TextField field1 = new TextField("field1", String.class);
field1.setMarkupId("field1");
form.add(field1);

final TextField field2 = new TextField("field2", String.class);
field2.setMarkupId("field2");
form.add(field2);

field2.add(new AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior("onblur") {

@Override
protected void onUpdate(AjaxRequestTarget target) {
target.add(field1.setDefaultModelObject(null));
target.add(field2.setDefaultModelObject(null));
target.focusComponent(field1);
}
});

Can someone help me understand what I might have been missing? I've also
included a quickstart to illustrate my problems. Thanks!

form model update in a wizard program

2016-01-15 Thread trlt
Hi all,

There is probably something very fundamental that I don't in wicket models.
Attached is a very simple quickstart to illustrate my problem.

In it, I have a 2-step wizard program:

1) Select "Faculty" from the Appointment Type drop down in step 1;
2) Show what's been selected (works as expected) in "Next" step;
3) Now go back to Select "Staff" from the Appointment Type drop down using
"Previous" button;
4) Label works, but the drop down doesn't (the value stays with same).

I've tried various way to update the model, but to no avail. Hope someone
can shed some light on this for me. Thanks! quickstart.zip

Re: 2 different context paths using one single war file

>> why do you want that? What is the benefit of having the same application

Maybe I didn't explain this well - Another department in my company wants
one of the applications in my Wicket *.war file. I'm trying to make it
available for them under a different URL (so theirs users do not have to see
our department's hostname etc).

This is something new to me and I don't think if I'm taking the right
approach. I don't want to maintain multiple copies of the source code or
multiple war files, and I'm open to other suggestions though.

2 different context paths using one single war file

2015-10-08 Thread trlt
I have developed a Wicket application (MyApplication.war), to be deployed on
Apache + Tomcat.
It can be invoked using: http://hostname//MyApplication

The application has 2 bookmarkable pages:
http://hostname/MyApplication/page1
http://hostname/MyApplication/page2

I'd like to make page2 also available using a different hostname:
http://hostname2/department/page2

Using one single war file, how can I use the same source code in Wicket to
serve the following 2 different URLs:

http://hostname/MyApplication/page2
http://hostname2/department/page2

Hoping someone in the user group can offer some help or suggestions. Thanks!

DownloadLink in a separate thread?

2014-09-28 Thread trlt
Just checking to see if I'm doing this right:

When users click on a download link on my Wicket application, I want to be
zip all the files in a directory on the fly and return the user one big
*.zip file.

This is working as expected, but since the number of and size of files can
be quite big, this can take a while to process. Is DownloadLink the right
wicket component to implement this? Does it make sense to run this in a
separate thread?

Any help is appreciated!

jQuery noConflict() and wicket 6

2014-03-24 Thread trlt
I wrote a simple test program to understand how jQuery.noConflict() works
with Wicket 6. The program uses 2 different jQuery libraries (jQuery 1.11.0
by Wicket 6 and jQuery 1.4.4 by someone else), and can be explained in its
*.html file:

!DOCTYPE html
html xmlns:wicket=http://wicket.apache.org;
head
meta charset=utf-8 /
titleApache Wicket Quickstart/title

/head
body
p
 click #  ( ajax link )
/p
/body
/html

decorator.js is a program implemented by another developer. It also adds
jQuery 1.4.4 dynamically to the page. To simplify the code, I only included
the line that causes the problem:

(function($) {
$(document).ready(function() {
$('head').prepend('');
});
})(jQuery);

Problem: Wicket Ajax link (c1-link) no longer works (onClick() is never
called). jQuery object now references version 1.4.4. In Firebug, I see the
following error:

TypeError: jQuery(...).on is not a function
jQuery(el).on(type, data, fn); //wicket...4000.js (line 169)

Question: How can I reset the jQuery object to 1.11.0 for the Wicket Ajax
call? Can someone explain to me the execution order of the different jQuery
libraries used in the program? I tried to reset it by calling
$.noConflict() after decorator.js, but that didn't work (still points to
1.4.4). I'm not too sure how to unset it since it's added dynamically after
the DOM object has been created.

I can update the program to use jQuery 1.7+ in place of 1.4.4 to solve the
problem, but I want to understand how 2 different libraries can be used in
the same page. Hoping someone can help!

multiple jQuery libraries in Wicket 6

2014-03-20 Thread trlt
Hi,

I recently tried to upgrade my wicket application from 1.5.10 to 6.14.0.
One of my wicket pages has a component that is generated by someone else
which still runs on jQuery 1.4.4 (and there, jQuery 1.4.4 library is
included in the header). Including jQuery 1.4.4 breaks my Wicket Ajax links
on the page.

My understanding is that Wicket 6 only supports jQuery 1.7+, but given this
component is out of my control, is it possible to include both jQuery
libraries on the same page, more specially, with one of the libraries that's
no longer supported by Wicket 6?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
